Wiring car radio power supply Solved

Question

Hello,

So here is my problem ^^

I have a 1994 Fiat Punto 60 S, all the speakers are correctly connected, I just need the power supply and ground. The only issue is that once connected to my ISO plug, my car radio does not turn on..

To check if there was power, I connected the power and ground together (so the fuse blew but was replaced with a new one) and there’s power.

I don’t understand why when I put them in contact the power is there, but when I connect them to my car radio it doesn’t turn on..

Do I have a problem with the ground, or with my permanent +? And how can I fix it? :/

Thank you all for your help, I was able to get it to work by connecting the permanent and the contact of the ISO of the car radio, so both lead to the car's permanent power :)  There you go, peace! :)

Avoid this kind of test by touching a + with the mass, the car radio could be the cause, have you checked if it works on another car?

Also check the after contact, but to test it properly you would need a multimeter

Yes, it works like a charm on others

I don't have the + after contact, all that comes out of my car are the speaker wires, the power (+ constant), and the ground.

I don't have any :/

You need to pull a "post-contact," for that you must build a bridge on the cigarette lighter wire.

The issue is that on Fiat cars of that age, there is no accessory power, just a constant one.
I was advised to connect my constant power and my accessory power from my harness to the constant power of the car, good idea or not?

yes you can connect the after contact to the permanent one only issue is when you cut the contact the car radio is still running so you have to remove the front panel every time

Hi, The most after contact is not a requirement. Most of the time it's a cable issue with the red and yellow. With the old Fiats, I always removed the original ISO connections to redo them myself.
