My computer stays connected for very little time

Good evening,
we have two computers; the first has no problem with the internet, but the second disconnects very quickly (I don’t know if I’ll be able to finish this message) and sometimes allows reconnection, sometimes not...
it’s an Asus
I’m sending the message, I’ll come back afterwards.

Hello, the wifi network is a network that uses waves, it may be that your PC does not pick up the frequency well (thick wall, Radio Waves, neighbor's wifi on the same channel etc..)
to not complicate things, have you already tried resetting the network adapter? if not, here’s how to do it:
1) Press simultaneously on the keys WIN + R
2) Type cmd followed by the Enter key to open the command prompt
3) In the command prompt, type ipconfig /all (does not repair, but you will be able to see the network adapter settings, IPv4 and IPv6 addresses notably as well as the subnet mask(s).
4) To "clear" the IP address of the network adapter, you must type the following command:
ipconfig /release followed by the Enter key5) to reassign an IP address to the network adapter, the command is:
ipconfig /renew followed by the Enter key.6) once the two commands are finished, you need to flush the DNS server cache. For this, we use the command:
ipconfig /flushdns.
7) exit the command prompt environment with the command exit.
If the problem persists, repeat the steps.
If the problem persists after repeating the steps, you can perform an advanced network reset by adding the following commands after step 6:netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset
(These are heavy commands, which reset the entire network stack. They are used only if the problem persists.)
After these two commands, you must restart the PC, otherwise the reset will not apply.

Hi,
sorry to break the weird vibe established in this discussion, but until proven otherwise, this old command netshell interface ip reset has never been used for intermittent faults, it cannot fix them, but it is rather useful against permanent faults where a TCP/IP stack is blocked by a faulty setting.
If it works, great, but the cause is certainly somewhere else.

Hi,
you say you might not be able to finish your post, but we can always write, even if we’re disconnected.
How exactly do you translate your disconnections?
If I understand correctly, you have a 4G router, you might try to connect your PC via Ethernet to the box.
And there you go, there you go, there it is ....
But alas, how tedious line spacing is!! -
Hello Brupala, Hello 84etmoi,
I don’t get the impression that the RJ45 port is native on this computer; perhaps an adapter will be needed as well?
And I checked Asus's site, the latest wireless drivers date from 2022, quite surprising....Stupid questions, but: what is the distance between this computer and your Wi-Fi transmitter? Are there any elements that could disturb the signal between you and the router?

Hi,
indeed, today all ultrabooks are devoid of native Ethernet ports, but for me it’s an accessory that you should always have on hand in your bag, with USB keys, perhaps an external hard drive, a spare USB/Wi‑Fi adapter can also be handy.
personally, on ultrabooks for years, I have several external Ethernet adapters, some with USB hubs.

Good evening everyone,
a big thank you for your responses,
right now, I’m on my husband’s computer; mine refuses to connect. However, I did have to browse the internet this morning for about an hour and everything was fine; I even regretted having to turn it off.
Usually, I’m about 5 meters from the box, with a thick wall between the box and the computer, but it works very well… usually.
Since it’s been problematic for a few days, I move to be 50 cm from the box, but that changes nothing: — either it works — or it doesn’t work for long (it disconnects abruptly and I can or cannot reconnect immediately, then it reconnects, etc.) — or it simply won’t cooperate.
I have two scenarios when it won’t connect: — I click at the bottom on the round Earth-shaped icon that shows I’m not connected, and in the available networks, I don’t have my box, so I’m stuck — or there’s my box, but when I click “connect,” it says it’s not possible.
Look, miracle! It just connected by itself, without me doing anything…
Well… I don’t know what else to add.-
hello,
for the ping, you forgot a step:
you should not start executing ping, but start executing cmd /k and then type ping in the black window.
Anyway, ping localhost (127.0.0.1) tests virtually nothing.
you should rather check your wifi reception level with the command
netsh wlan show interfaces
If you don’t want to try Ethernet, try with a wifi/usb adapter, if possible with a fairly large antenna, maybe the internal antenna of your PC is broken.

Thank you again for these new answers,
12:33 online, all bars, it’s fine.
All of this is gobbledygook for me and I do research everywhere as soon as you propose solutions, I haven't found how to run the command "netsh wlan show interfaces," but I’m happy to buy a wifi/usb adapter.
But I’ve made a decision: I acknowledge my evident incompetence and, even with your advice, I will have difficulty to determine this problem with certainty. So, it’s safer for me to entrust my device to a repair technician. -- driver issue? -- faulty network card? -- internal antenna broken? A pro will quickly figure out the mess.
I’ll come back anyway to explain what they tell me.
Have a good weekend everyone.

Thanks blackmefias for such patience with people like me who have always learned everything on their own in computer science.
This forum is really extraordinary.I just performed the procedure explained, and I restarted my device; I think from now on I have to wait for my next logins to see whether or not there is a result.
I will come back to inform you of the outcome anyway.
Good night. -
Day 1 there is no time to check..............Day 2 it's good.

Hello, J3, it's still good,
so yes, blackmefias, the question is resolved, I will look into how we announce it on the forum.
Thank you again.
