Hello,
I just acquired a new multifunction printer HP Deskjet 2722e and it works fine for printing documents.
However, when I want to connect the SCANNER application from Windows, nothing happens; it replies to me "To get started, connect a scanner" even though it is turned on and connected to the computer via USB.
I am using Windows 11.
Thank you for your help
Configuration: Windows / Firefox 99.0

Hello,
Most "branded" multifunction devices use their own proprietary scanning drivers that are not implemented in Windows: use the CD if one was delivered with the printer or visit the HP website to install the drivers and scanning software for this model. -
Hi
The SCANNER application on Windows 11?
You mean Fax and Scan?
I don't have anything else on Windows 11 and I scan with my HP Deskjet 2710 multifunction printer
I didn't install anything, W11 found and installed my 2710 (connected via Wi-Fi to my router) by itself
HP provides a utility that allows, among other things, to scan

Hello Brucine, and thank you for your help.
I will try to retrieve the drivers from HP...
I'll keep you updated. -
Hello Kaumune, hello Brucine...
I want to scan a document using the Scanner and then save it to my computer.
With my old printer, I used the SCAN application from Windows and everything worked fine.
With my new printer, the SCAN application cannot find the Scanner, and the following message appears: "To get started, connect a scanner".
I searched for new drivers on HP with no success.
I also installed HP SMART with no results either.
Now, I don’t know what to do...-

Hello,
Yet HP claims that besides HP Smart, which adds nothing useful to the discussion, the necessary drivers are available through Easy Start, including for Windows 11.
It's unclear whether HP Smart only facilitates communication via Wifi (which would be surprising in terms of scanning).
Often in terms of scanning, the device is not recognized if you do not install the software in question before connecting the device.
https://support.hp.com/fr-fr/drivers/selfservice/hp-deskjet-2700-all-in-one-printer-series/29378157/model/31598179- As previously mentioned, there's no need to install anything with a HP Deskjet 2700 series connected via USB to Windows 11.
The printer is installed and the scanner is automatically recognized in Fax and Scan.
Indeed, HP Smart only works over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth (???)
If one day the requester could kindly respond to the question regarding this SCANNER application that doesn't exist in Windows 11, we might be able to make some progress. - Re,
For the record, we indeed end up not really knowing where we want to go.
But there is indeed in the Microsoft Store (which I refrain from using) an application called Scanner (apparently we have to speak French) compatible with Windows 10 and 11, the usefulness of which is somewhat unclear since, right out of the box, at least Windows 10 includes the Twain drivers and a basic but functional "fax and scan" software locally.

Good evening Brucine...
I found a phone number on HP that connected me to a technician.
He "took control" of my computer and fixed everything, but I wouldn't be able to explain what he did. I believe he installed another driver, but I'm not sure.
He connected the printer via Wi-Fi and reinstalled HP Smart; now everything is OK and it works!
However, the Windows Scanner app doesn't work, but that's not important.
I'm marking it as resolved and thank you for your responses.
See you soon...-
He only circumvented the USB "problem" without resolving it
I tested the app Windows Scan from the Microsoft Store (thankfully pointed out by Brucine instead of the requester, thank you), even more minimalist than Fax and Scan, it scans via USB and/or wifi.
On every first attempt (both Wifi and USB), I received a message saying it couldn't find the scanner but scanned anyway... no comment
