End-to-end encryption issue with FB Messenger/PC

Hello,

For a long time I’ve had a problem with end-to-end encryption with Messenger on FB on my PC. I also have Messenger on my mobile and the two have the same settings. Except that on my PC, if I click on a contact with whom I didn’t have any visible conversation on Messenger, I can’t send them a message—the space is all white, there’s no area to write, and when I request the end-to-end encryption status, it tells me there’s a failure.

I don’t know what else to do. To be able to chat with my contact, I have to go to my mobile to start the conversation and then I can see it on my PC.

I’ve sent messages to Meta but of course I never got a response.

That is why I’m reaching out to you, I’m at my wits’ end.

Thank you all for any help you can provide.
