Problème d'installation de Windows XP sur un Compaq Presario CQ56.

Hello,

Please, I have a Compaq Presario CQ56 with Windows 7 Home Edition and I can't install Windows XP. It displays a blue screen after 1 minute of installation and the installation stops. Often, we change the type of hard drive (IDE or SATA) and it works, but in this case, it gives no opportunity; I can't change it in the BIOS as it is untraceable.
Help me

    if you want to replace Windows 7 with Windows XP, you won't be able to do it. XP is too old and you will lose all the advantages of Windows 7.

    It seems that Windows XP does not recognize the drive after upgrading from Seven... Look into that!

    They are so stupid, those people who tell you to stick with XP!! Does that concern you?? Whether they use XP or Seven? They can do whatever they want, okay. They're not here to ask for your opinions.

    Listen, we can't switch to compatibility mode in the BIOS, so you have to install a Windows XP that contains the SATA drivers or a modified version of Windows (and that's what I did), I won’t give the name out of respect for the CCM guidelines.

    I also have a similar problem with Windows 7. I start the installation of Windows 7 correctly... everything goes smoothly...
    Copying, extracting, installing...
    It launches
    Windows updates the registry
    and... BOOM BSOD every time. I've changed Windows several times, but nothing works...
    Help please :'(

      I have indeed changed Windows several times <= that's right, you have quite a collection of Windows 7 DVDs and of course they are all authentic, right...

      Start by giving us the code 0x0000???? from the BSOD to get an idea of the cause of the problem.

      To answer your question NO, they are not authentic and I have no problem admitting it. Nowadays, it's rare to find people who download legally... Anyway, that's not the subject...
      While searching online, I discovered that this machine is tattooed...

      Anyway, support stops here, CCM does not provide assistance for "hacked" software/operating systems ;-)

      Oh yes, in French, capital letters are used at the beginning of sentences and for proper nouns; maybe with the "kikoulols" it's every word, but here we are speaking and writing French.

    Here it is, I found out why we can't install a new OS on this machine, and frankly, the news isn't good :(

    The hard drive of the machine has been tattooed so that only the original operating system can be used. Theoretically, there is a recovery partition installed on the hard drive, but I didn't know the PC was tattooed.
    And when I was installing Windows 7, it kindly asked me if I wanted to format the hard drive, so now I find myself without the recovery partition. In short, I'm in deep trouble :/

    It's good, I found THE SOLUTION
    1: You need to go into the BIOS upon startup by pressing ESC
    2: You must disable SATA Native mode... To do this, you have to search for it in the BIOS in the configuration of your HARDWARE

    If that still doesn't work, it could be that the hard drive is damaged
    you will then need to repair it with Hiren's Boot, which you can easily find a tutorial for on the internet

    PS: In my case, it was the sectors of my hard drive that were defective
    I was able to repair it using Hiren's Boot

    I just want to apologize for my ignorance in thinking that the machine was locked...... Which is FALSE!

      Disabling native SATA mode in BIOS
      If the BIOS offers an option to disable native SATA configuration in the BIOS, proceed as follows.
      Turn off the computer.
      Press the Power button and then F8 to enter the BIOS setup.
      Using the cursor, navigate through the Configuration options to locate the native SATA mode setting.
      If the SATA setting is among the options, select the Disable option, then press F10 to save the change and restart the computer.
      If no SATA settings are present in the list, follow the instructions for one of the other options presented in this document to modify the settings.

    That's false! Compaq provides the XP drivers for this computer on its website.

      Forget it, XP is not a secure system and it has been dead for a long time. Seriously, leave Windows 7 on your PC. Otherwise, you will only have problems, especially with this PC. It is NOT designed for Windows XP. I don't understand why you talk about changing the HDD format in the BIOS since it's a SATA. If you really need XP, you can run it with VirtualBox, the console emulator. Also, for the BIOS, avoid changing anything if you don't know what you're doing. This might be the reason for the blue screen problem during the installation of XP.
