Epson SX 205 issues Solved

Question

Hello,

I just got an Epson SX 205, and so far I’ve been happy with it. However, there’s a problem: when I lift the lid after turning the printer on, the "ink and paper empty" lights keep flashing. I read the manual, and when I press the "stop" button to move the ink cartridge carriage to the middle, nothing happens. The power light is also flashing. Even after properly installing the drivers on my PC, it doesn’t work; I'm told there's a communication error between my PC and the printer.
If anyone knows what to do, I’d really appreciate it if you could explain it to me.

I just bought the same EPSON SX205 printer at Darty, installed it on a laptop running VISTA, and I'm getting a communication error when printing, even though everything works fine on another laptop with Windows XP? Did you use the driver provided on the CD? Is it compatible with VISTA?

Normally it works, but watch out, Vista tends to change the printer configuration. My issue is that my printer no longer identifies my new black cartridge, what should I do????

I have a problem with my printer mentioned above.
It shows a paper error when I try to print all kinds of texts.
In several formats: JPEG, WORD, EXCEL, text document, etc...
My printer is only 2 months old.

Hello,

I had the same issue after long research, and after a call to the manufacturer's technical center, I got an explanation.

If you have a PC equipped with an AMD processor, you need to download the usb filter 1.07 patch, then install it, and your printer will be recognized and will work properly.

Hello Nico!! When you print and your sheet is smudged with print lines on the document, it means you need to clean your print heads. To clean them, you do as if you were going to print a document, then go to the "Utility" tab and there you have "Head Cleaning," so you do that, wait, and then reprint. If it still does it, you should set your print quality to "Fine";)

Same here, I’ve had a lot of problems with this Epson SX205 printer, so Epson is done for me. It’s a brand that locks up when you use generic cartridges to force you to buy only Epson cartridges. I managed to work a bit by disabling the status monitor function, but now it’s blocked again. That’s it, I’m boycotting Epson. I’ll choose other brands. See you later.
