Where is the saved file, I have the name, not the location

By mistake, I closed a saved file and I can’t find it. How can I recover it? Why doesn’t OpenOffice Writer always open in the directory where it was closed? Why doesn’t it offer the ability to search in the most recently opened folders? Thank you for your response because it’s work of more than a few hours that I’ve lost. Michel.     Hello,

    Do you have the 3rd line in this menu?

    "Recent documents" could allow you to open the latest files that have been opened.
