    Hello,

Normally, the white square on TV means it’s forbidden for children (but it disappeared in the 1990s).

How old is the little girl, to try to imagine her destructive abilities?

That said, the story lacks details and a screenshot would be welcome: what size, with a border or not...

The causes can be varied: trivial (Notepad window open...) or less (Widget or window of a software or a process that cannot be displayed...).

If malware has been downloaded, a system file deleted hastily, it will be more complicated, but we can start by restarting the computer and, if the problem persists, check in the Task Manager by Ctrl-Alt-Del what has no business being there (unknown program...).

    Hello,

I’ll put forward a hypothesis: a shortcut icon created with a white shortcut image, right-click properties on this square would say more.

Well then, about the background and proper use of a PC (remember, the P stands for personal).

we don’t give access to one’s PC account to their kids, nor to anyone else anyway; if they can use the PC, we create a personal account for them, it’s better for everyone.

And there you go, there you have it ....

But goodness, how tedious line spacing is !!

    Hello,

Are you sure it doesn’t come from the screen itself?

Otherwise in Windows disable unnecessary programs with Autoruns to eliminate them as possible causes.

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autoruns

Look at all the details, do research if needed.

In the "Logon" (Run Registry, Startup) and "Scheduled Tasks" (Scheduled Tasks) tabs, disable or delete from startup unnecessary third-party items that are not Microsoft or Windows important, either by unchecking them, or right-click > Delete.

Look at the "Services" tab, but do not disable them if sometimes useful; it’s better to set them to "Manual" (On demand) with Windows services.msc, by right-clicking the Start button > Run: services.msc

With Autoruns you have the list of Non-Windows services, it helps a lot.

Changes will take effect after restarting Windows.
