Hello,

I am looking for the PowerShell command to obtain Microsoft Office for free. I am on Windows 11 and I had successfully used it on Windows 10.

Thank you...

    Hello,

It's normal, Microsoft Office is a paid software (subscription...).
However you can install LibreOffice which does the same thing, it is free software and actively maintained.

    Hello,

I'm looking for a way to get a Ferrari for free, do you have any leads?

This is something I have a hard time understanding: in computing, why would you want something for free that has a price?

@Gef_2922 StatusMember do you work for free?

If you're looking for something free, take something that truly is free or else pay!

      Hello,

For the economically disadvantaged, note that the link in <2> is in dollars that are presumed to be Canadian and expensive.

In the EU, licenses can be found for less than one euro, certainly most of the time "disposable" (they are not reinstallable), but the price makes the question a bit obscene.

        Hi,

It’s a Los Angeles Times affiliate site to Microsoft, so it’s more expensive, prices are in US, but specified Lifetime License.

I’ve never bought Office on this site, but several times Windows Pro, and always Retail licenses so Legal.

It’s true that I’ve found cheaper licenses elsewhere, but I kept running into shady sellers and end up filing disputes for disposable or non-functional licenses, and buying more anyway, so going through a Microsoft-affiliated seller to avoid trouble seems prudent to me, who knows what they’re doing, to ensure real ownership of a license when you use it seriously and you care about this version. The price is higher but still almost negligible, like the price of a music CD, if anyone still knows what buying music is.

Since I don’t use it very “Seriously,” I content myself with LibreOffice.

I found Office and Windows (for my Windows 10 virtual machine) for €0.90 on sites that appeared reliable, but in doing so I did the calculation that I would have to shell out these €0.90 again each time there is a crash leading to a format, the eventual total wouldn’t ruin me and won’t either for the author of the question.

When we talk about a physical machine, with a hardware ID recognizable by Microsoft, it’s more worthwhile.

I use LibreOffice, but if Microsoft used the same type of activation (Automatic after formatting and connection) based on the PC’s hardware ID, without an associated Microsoft account, I think I would buy it as well.

I don’t have a Microsoft account, I’m allergic to it.

In both cases I activated by phone robot where we receive the license code after entering the activation code that we bought, I don’t know if that’s still possible.

    Hello,

I found the command that activates Microsoft Office, already present (in principle) on your machine.

    shell command.

I myself also bought software for 0.90 euros, but it was tedious given the number of digits.

Obviously, this activation technique is no more legal than using a pirated version of the software. But it is much more accessible and less risky. Moreover, quite, and rather unusually, several testimonials on social networks report that Microsoft's Technical Support itself uses this method to troubleshoot some users, which perhaps explains why the company does not seem to fight this tool.

    Best regards.

      Hello,

      It’s still a quibble.

Whether we pay 0.90€ or 150€, it will be just as “tiring” to enter the number of digits of the activation key needed to obtain the license, which will be the same.

Historically, it was a user who published the manipulation that Microsoft had indicated to him, which he was not entitled to do since it is intended for Microsoft’s internal use and which was anything but elegant.

Microsoft could very well block this backdoor, he has done so for several others, but we have never known him to be very eager, at least toward end users, to wage war on illicit licenses as long as the scale remains artisanal.

    You’re not wrong.

I do want to point out, though, that I bought MS Office a few years ago.

Since upgrading to Windows 11, the suite has only been valid for one year. I find this unfair, which is why I’m taking advantage of this loophole to activate the product for free.

    Regards

Microsoft 365 licenses are, of course, subscription-based.

I bought one of these Office 2019 licenses for €0.90 about 3 years ago to install on my new Windows 11 PC, where it still works.

The cost, as of now, is therefore not zero but €0.30 per year.
