Hello,
--hello
I just bought a laptop on Saturday (ACER ASPIRE 7720Z) at Carrefour and registered everything on the ACER website.
While browsing the laptop, there is an ACER software that asked me to set passwords for recovery and the BIOS.
I used the same password that I use everywhere for both, and the next day I couldn't access my hard drive when I entered my password at the BIOS level. I called Acer customer service, and they told me to send it in and that it would cost me 110 euros.
Lacking the means, I would like to know if there is a solution or if someone can help me. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

I only see one solution now, so you need to reset your CMOS to 0. Basically, go back to factory settings. But for that, you have to open your computer...
yes, right at startup I have a window that tells me to type the password and it prevents the display of the data from the CD

Try to download this and put it on a CD:
ultimate boot cd
I haven't tested it, but at first glance, there is a utility to recover CMOS passwords.

thank you for your reply but before the CD boots the BIOS stops

--I opened the PC and saw that the battery was soldered on. While trying to remove it, the legs of the support broke (another issue). However, I put the battery back in and started it without any problems. Now, how do I resolder the battery since the solder doesn't hold on the board and darkens the area?

uh... in my opinion, the warranty expired the moment he struck with the screwdriver. And I don't know if they repair that.
Hello
I have an Acer laptop and I don't know if it will work, but for me, yes!!! I just did it a few minutes ago
==> Turn off your PC, remove the covers with a small screwdriver, and take off the covers; under one of the covers, there is a battery, take it out and wait 2 little minutes, then put it back in the right way, and that's it. However, I’m currently on the guest account; my account has a password that just changed, but anyway, I managed to remove this password from the BIOS
PS: even with the warranty, it doesn't work! It's not a functionality bug; it costs between €50 and €150, I don't know.

Hello,
I'd like to thank everyone for their responses and advice, but I don't really care about their warranty since I've read so much on forums about ACER that I don't think I'll send my PC in for repairs with them. Plus, given the quality of the hardware, it's disposable. What's interesting is only the price, but anyway, I will invest later in something more robust.
Best regards and thank you

You would need some conductive glue...
I know it exists, or else,
I made a HDD work with little balls of aluminum foil and some adhesive putty...
it was a capacitor and it worked!
but be careful to secure your "ball", be sure of yourself or else don't touch it...
Best regards, tuxun
