Toshiba BIOS password issue Closed

Question

Hello,

I have a huge problem with my Toshiba laptop (Tecra S1). The BIOS password doesn't work. I couldn't enter a wrong password twice. It's impossible. I don't know what to do. I went to Puteaux this morning and Toshiba wanted to charge me 85 euros to unlock the machine. What should I do? Can the password be unlocked without a technician's help? How do I set up the "loopback"?

Bonsoir, j'ai également un problème. Mon frère a mis un mot de passe dans le BIOS, car j'avais prêté mon portable à sa femme. Comme je suis en conflit avec lui, il ne veut pas me donner le mot de passe. Comment faire pour enlever ce mot de passe ? La plupart des techniciens demandent des sommes exorbitantes. To unlock your BIOS password: 1: Open your computer case after completely turning it off and unplugging its power cable.
2: Consult your motherboard documentation to locate the jumper position for resetting the BIOS. If you have no documentation, look on your motherboard for one of the following inscriptions: CLR BIOS, CLEAR BIOS, CLR CMOS, CLEAR CMOS, RESET BIOS or RESET CMOS. It is generally located near the CMOS battery on the motherboard. Note the name of the jumper associated with the inscription. In our example, it is the jumper JP4.
3: Find the reset jumper on your motherboard. It is also usually near the battery.
If the jumper is on a 3-pin connector, place it straddling the middle pin and the pin not initially covered (switching from pin1-pin2 to pin2-pin3, or vice versa). Wait a second then return the jumper to its original position (pin1-pin2).
If the jumper is on a 2-pin connector and is only straddling one pin, place it on both, wait a second then return it to its original position.
4: Plug the power cable back into your case and start your PC: the password has disappeared.

this only works for BIOS that do not have security! Some brands use an additional EEPROM that cannot be modified by this trick.

Just remove the RAM and underneath there are two G1 connectors, you connect them with something metal, this discharges the battery and voila, no more password!

Procedure tested by myself on Tecra S1, and it worked.

Remove the bottom cover containing the mouse
remove the Wi-Fi card
remove the protective plastic
locate the marker C5071
short-circuit the two pins of C5071
turn on the PC while holding the two pins short-circuited
wait for Windows to start
after that you will no longer have a password.

BIOS = qwerty keyboard
Windows = azerty keyboard

some keys are not in the same place
