Hello,

I have a huge problem with my Toshiba laptop (Tecra S1). The BIOS password doesn't work. I couldn't enter a wrong password twice. It's impossible. I don't know what to do. I went to Puteaux this morning and Toshiba wanted to charge me 85 euros to unlock the machine. What should I do? Can the password be unlocked without a technician's help? How do I set up the "loopback"?

Thank you in advance.

REMOVE THE CMOS BATTERY.. THEN WAIT UNTIL THE BIOS PASSWORD IS CLEARED.. ABOUT 2 HOURS..
THE BATTERY IS A CHIP INSERTED ON THE MOTHERBOARD...

It doesn't work. In fact, only the company ACIT, a subcontractor for Toshiba's after-sales service, can reset the BIOS. And by mail, it costs 100 euros including VAT, with Chronopost shipping included.
And I have no idea how they do it. :-)

I hadn't seen it, this one
<<<..THE BATTERY IS A CHIP INSERTED ON...>>>
a coin cell and an electronic chip, is it the same thing???!!!...

it's a component that has as many contacts as the BIOS memory has pins, and it is applied to the latter
and the BIOS reset program is executed.

Removing the bullet doesn't work; I've already done it.
