Hello,

I have a Brother DCP-2520DW (monochrome laser) printer that constantly experiences rear jam (single-sided and double-sided printing). I remove the stuck sheets, but it keeps happening. How can I resolve this issue?

Thank you

Hello,

-- You need to stick to the standard paper weight used...

-- The rubber rollers for the paper feed may be worn, dried out, or too smooth; they should be cleaned, or sanded with fine sandpaper... or replaced...

-- There may also be a foreign object inside that is interfering with the paper path.

-- Or there could be a mechanical part that is broken, loose, misaligned... or the duplex operation is not functioning properly.

-- If it happens again, it means the issue is still present... you need to look closely... very closely... with a strong light.

Hello

I'm following up on my initial message.

Response to Jeannets: I usually used 80 gsm paper and then tried 70 gsm. It didn't make any difference.

Yesterday I decided to do a thorough cleaning inside my printer: I opened the front and back covers, removed the paper tray, the drum, and the duplex tray, and with a compressed air spray, I cleaned everywhere. There was a lot of dust (the printer is old, purchased in 2016). I waited for everything to dry inside and after 15 minutes, I put everything back in place.

For now, it’s working very well, printing single-sided and double-sided. We'll see later.

Thank you

Congratulations, that's very good... You may not know why..? but the fact that you did something on the subject has changed the situation, even if it's just dust in front of an optical sensor...(???)

In any case, this type of cleaning should be done at least once a year... it promotes proper functioning...

Best of luck.
