Application note does not stay open on my iPhone

    Finally I managed to do it by reducing the number of my notes in the Notes app from a computer. And it works on iPhone, it stays open !!!!

    Hello,

    If the Notes app doesn’t stay open on your iPhone, turn off iCloud Notes, restart your iPhone, then re-enable iCloud Notes to resync your notes.

    Hello,

    The latest update via:

    - Settings
    - General
    - Software Update

    and it’s 26.6.1 which is the last one to perform, and I don’t think this will put your note app back in place.

    Updates, you need to know how to name them to help as well.

    You have the note app in the App Store and you reinstall it from there because on Apple everything installs from the Store at the application level.

      don’t stay open: when I click it, my notes appear and then 6 seconds later the app closes.

      I uninstalled the app as advised by one of your colleagues and just reinstalled it. All my notes came back (800+-) BUT, as before, the app doesn’t stay open

      Disappointed

      You need to check iCloud because this application depends on it.

      Even a single corrupted item can cause this crash to occur immediately.

      Often, a note that appears in the list such as a Scan, a PDF, or an attachment can crash the application.

      Also, hundreds of Notes piling up can exceed the capacity of certain iPhone models, and if just one note is mis-synchronized, it can block the entire set.

      800 notes? Is everything on iCloud where there are notes stored on the iPhone?


      Couldn’t it be a storage issue?

      If the CAPACITY crashes it, could I see, even very briefly, a note added a few minutes ago? I’m running tests… a recently added note is visible on both the iPhone and the computer.

    Okay with you. My Notes app notes aren’t lost because I can 1. read them on my computer 2. see them “briefly” in iPhone Notes. BUT this app, reinstalled etc as suggested, doesn’t stay open when I click on it

    that’s the problem!!!

    I understand your disappointment, especially if it involves a lot of important notes. At this stage, I wouldn't touch anything randomly.

    The fact that you restarted the iPhone and waited only a little can indeed help: if your notes are stored in iCloud, synchronization can take some time depending on the number of notes and your connection. Make sure you are on Wi‑Fi, keep the iPhone connected, and wait a bit before concluding that they are lost.

    I would also check Settings > your name > iCloud > Notes and make sure that Notes syncing is enabled. Apple specifically recommends this check, followed by a restart if iCloud notes don’t appear.

    For the iOS update, yes, I would do it, but only after verifying these settings and, ideally, after making a backup of the iPhone. Apple also recommends updating devices when missing notes are encountered. First of all, also look in “Recently Deleted” and search with “All Accounts” selected.

    In my opinion, your notes are not necessarily lost: you just need to let the synchronization finish and check all locations before panicking.
