Hello,

My brother's computer has a problem with Windows 10, so we are thinking about formatting and reinstalling Windows 10.

He tried a reset, but the mouse is no longer recognized; we tried it on other ports and with another mouse, and the same issue persists; it doesn't show up in the device manager.

What would be the simplest method to reinstall Windows 10? I was thinking of formatting the drive and then booting from a USB drive with the Media Creation Tool.

What do you think?

Thanks for your advice.

Hello,

Booting from a USB drive containing the W10 installation is the simplest solution. There's no need to format the disk beforehand; during the W10 installation, we can do it directly. The thing to check is the license. With a digital license, W10 will be activated upon connecting to the internet. In other cases, you need to have the license number.

Thank you,

I already have a key with the Media Creation Tool, is that enough?

it's a USB key created with Media Control Tool that is necessary, not a key that contains Media Control Tool

Yes, created with media creation.

But I think my problem will be the installation with a mouse that is not recognized..

You want to reinstall because the mouse is not recognized, assuming it's a software issue. If that is the case, the reinstallation should go smoothly.

If it's a hardware issue, the reinstallation will not solve the problem.

If you haven't done it yet, try Clear CMOS.
