HP ENVY 4520 cartridge issues

Question

Hello,

Everything had been fine for years and now I suddenly receive this message: "Remove and reinstall the indicated ink cartridge, making sure it is properly installed". There is ink and I tried to remove and reinstall it in vain…

Any help please?

bazfile thank you for your response. It works correctly with the black cartridge from the HP brand but no longer with the color cartridge from a generic brand Colruyt even though it has always worked. Does this mean that the Colruyt cartridge is empty? There is no way to verify it through the printer as it only indicates the levels of HP cartridges, or is it simply a bad idea to use generic brand cartridges? Thank you very much.
