The question is old, I stumbled upon it because I was asking myself the same question, and in the end, I found it!

No need to use a Greek keyboard or anything: the µ symbol is hidden with the Pi symbol, at least on my Google Keyboard,

just long-click on the Pi symbol, and it will be there, next to omega and uppercase Pi.

There you go, it's a gift for the next ones who will need this info.

Well seen! It doesn't seem to exist with Samsung keyboards.

Hello,

You cannot have the character µ on a French Android keyboard.

The solution is therefore to add the Greek keyboard in the input keyboards.

For Google's Gboard:

  • When the keyboard is displayed, tap on the gear icon for Settings (at the top of the keyboard)
  • Add a keyboard: You choose Greek.
  • Close the settings screen.
  • When you are in the text editor, simply switch keyboards by long-pressing the space bar. You type the Greek letters and return to the French keyboard in the same way.

With other keyboards than Gboard, the principle is the same; switching between keyboards may be done differently (additional key), but it should also be quick (tested with Samsung keyboard).
