Removing pseudo entry on Skype

Solved/Closed

Hello!
First of all, sorry if I didn't put my post in the right forum, but I wasn't sure where to put it...

Here's my problem:
A lot of people have connected with my Skype, and now when I open Skype I have a ton of usernames in the place where you enter the username. Being the neat freak that I am, it annoys me!! So I tried to delete them by removing the temp files and the forms under Internet Explorer, but nothing works...
I also uninstalled and reinstalled Skype, still nothing...

I'm really bad with computers, but I don't like when my PC is cluttered with things that aren't mine

So if you could help me.......

Thank you in advance, guys!!

(And thanks to this site too, which is really helpful for people who are not good with computers like me!!)
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

Hello,

Clean "AND" save Skype connections/nicknames:

All entries of Skype nicknames in the Skype login window, ALL VALIDATED ENTRIES; VALIDATED &quot BY YOU" EVEN OFFLINE!, generate a folder named after the entered nickname; "AND THIS" for each folder/nickname pair! ;-)

CREATING A FOLDER FOR EACH SKYPE NICKNAME:

This "works" without the need for an Internet connection! 8-|

((= "works" offline! ;-))

* Deleting a folder (Skype), named after a Skype nickname, simultaneously deletes the entry on the Skype login page!

** See the Skype section in your "Microsoft Windows XP user account" folder (for XP)

Tip note:

* If automatic login, without having to enter a password, is enabled on Skype startup, safeguarding the folder corresponding to the last activated nickname allows you to restore automatic login state... :-| :-) ;-)

Thank you...

Hello,
to delete the list of usernames used for Skype... on Vista?
I can't do it, it's super urgent and I've been getting frustrated with it for a few hours now... I can't find the folders/usernames for Skype. When I go on the Skype program, there's none of that and if it's hidden files, they are world champions, I can't find anything at all.
Can you help me?

FRANKLY, WELL DONE Mr. Citizen!!!
Myself, while doing research on the web in English, French, Italian; It was impossible to find;
To note for those who do not understand the sentence
** See the Skype section in your "Microsoft Windows XP user account" folder (for XP)

it’s the following circuit:
workstation
hard drive
to make certain hidden folders appear, go to tools at the top of the window, folder options, view, and show hidden folders;
doc and settings
your folder (account)
applic data (folder that was hidden)
skype
here the folder with the account to delete
AND there you go
(then restart your computer).

I would like to say: A big thank you to everyone for the help which is honestly useful; keep it up this serves us all!

Thank you so much because it was really a headache for me, I even had a nervous breakdown and in my state that's not really advisable. In any case, thank you, and if Skype could simplify things like Windows Live Messenger and think about those who are not professionals with computers, thanks.

to remove the usernames in Vista, you need to go to:

Root drive where Vista is installed
Users
Administrator
AppData (first make hidden folders visible)
Roaming
Skype
Delete the folders of the corresponding usernames

Hello, I have a little problem. I've noticed that my computer keeps all the Skype addresses that I use. I don't want that because I often have friends over and they use my Skype. It's annoying that they know all my addresses. How can I make it so that no address is saved? Thank you.

I found the answer online

Since you haven't mentioned anything about it, we'll assume you're using the Windows version of Skype:
- go to C:\Document and Settings\(User)\Application data\Skype
- and delete the usernames you no longer want
should do the trick. smile.png

On the Mac OS X version, it's a bit more complicated. wasntme.png

Hello Georgette,

since it's been a while since you posted this message, I'm not sure if you've solved your problem. In any case, I found a solution. I directly delete the folder with the name of the pseudonym you want to remove in the Skype directory, which is located somewhere in:

C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_WINDOWS_PSEUDO\ Application Data

Warning, Application Data is a hidden folder. To see it, you need to enable the view of hidden folders.

I don't know if you know how to do that, so here it is:
click on the Tools menu (in the window of the directory C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_WINDOWS_PSEUDO\), then on Folder Options. Go to the View tab, and look for the item Hidden files and folders in the list. There, select the option Show hidden files and folders. Apply. OK

There you go
Good luck

Hello
It's simple
You go to C:\Documents and Settings\ ComputerUserName\Application Data\Skype
You delete the file with the name of the unwanted username. And that's it.
I did it and it works well.

Hello everyone
Georgette, it's easy, you take a flash drive, you copy your Skype file, the entire file to the flash drive, then you go to the control panel, click on program removal, and you delete your Skype. Once that's done, you open your flash drive, you will find the Skype file, you copy it and paste it into program files, and that's it.
Thank you
And if you need anything else, my Skype username is: marishal737373

I did that but the username is still there. Because the folder or a file is open in another program.

I confirm that we can delete the usernames that appear in the window when we open the Skype program, before connecting.

Thanks to CCM

Under XP, you need to click on the dropdown menu at the bottom left, then on "All Programs", then on the "Accessories" folder, then on the "Run" command, and that's where you write %appdata%\skype.

Hello Georgette!

Have you tried hovering the mouse cursor over the usernames and clicking delete?
Normally, that works for data entered on the internet, maybe it’s the same for Skype???

Have a good afternoon!

yes and there's nothing to be done... it doesn't work!

and there's no "delete" like on MSN either...

Hello,

Are you talking about what’s in Skye’s history?

No, I'm talking about the usernames that we need to enter (like the password) to log into Skype!

Thanks for your ideas anyway

And I can't find it Stargirlfr :'(

RE,

Are you talking about the username? There's only one username!

In > File > Edit my profile >, which can be changed at will!

Or maybe I don't understand, and I'm being dumb?

I have Skype, and I use it every day!
0
Georgette > Bandit

No, you know when you log in, you have to enter your username and password
well, since a lot of people have logged in on my computer, I have a whole list of pre-registered usernames!
do you see what I mean???

That's what I would like to remove! so that there are only the most important ones!

Thanks for caring about my problem, Bandit :)

You select the contact (by clicking on it once), and you press the "Delete" key!

You do the same for all the others you want to erase!

I hope this time I answered your question? If needed...

I don't know if it's Georgette who's silly or if it's her Skype that's different (I have 3.2) but your technique doesn't work!! :'(

No, but it's fine, I'm cursed and that's it... I'm doomed to keep all these ugly usernames in my memory!

Why don't you let your username and password be saved so that it connects automatically on startup?
