Video playback issue

Hello :)

While everything was working fine before, I now have a video playback issue, whether with MPC-HC or VLC

When I try to play a video file (.TS), I don’t get any video, only the audio.

However, for .mp4 or .mkv, no problem.

At first I thought it was a codec issue, but then I saw that VLC had the same problem, so I figured it might be coming from my PC.

My graphics card is integrated on the motherboard.

Okay, I know my PC is old, but it used to work very well

Any idea perhaps?!

    Good evening,

    The success of a video playback depends on many factors and the software used doesn’t work miracles; it only reads the file that is given to it.

    - .TS files generally come from a replay recording, a TV channel...

    If this video is protected by DRM, you won’t be able to play it... Neither with MPC nor VLC… it’s a strong likelihood... the graphics card won’t change that.

    - You should know what this file is made of… With "MediaInfo" installed on the PC.

    Right-click on the Video file => MediaInfo => View => Text === and look inside.

    The file or files in question are movies or concerts, purchased or burned by myself.

    All were working very well not long ago with MPC or VLC

    They are composed of .vob files

    Hi again,

    In the first POST, they were TS files... Now, are they VOBs...? What is causing this difference..?? The VOB files are on commercially pressed DVDs (or a copy)

    -- The analysis from "MediaInfo" (absent) could be instructive..

    ...??? Maybe it doesn't read anything at all anymore.?

    sorry, these are DVDs with VOB files

    All my disks work except these ones

    no issue with mp4, mkv, avi, etc.

    When I launch a VOb,

    with VLC - the menu page opens but if I want to play, I have sound but no image.

    With mpc

    no menu, black screen but I have the menu sound.

    And this on ALL my VOB discs.

    so it’s not related to a specific film.

    I scanned the MediaInfo analysis file, it’s exactly what I wanted.

    This file coming from a DVD was copied onto drive D: that doesn’t work like that.

    It is not a *.TS file but a VIDEO_TS, which is very different.

    The image format is basic, it’s 720x480, and in American NTSC

    This DVD can only be played on a Home DVD player with the correct country region code...

    Conversion programs have been banned for several years... Therefore help with this illegal manipulation is not possible on CCM.

    I think I’ve clarified the why and the how…

    Good evening,

    this file has been read dozens of times on my PC with Media Player Classic Home Cinema or VLC.

    but don’t worry, I did a restore to July 11 and now everything works again :)))

    I don’t know what happened – probably a conflict somewhere but never mind

    Sorry, but there is something underneath.

    The NTSC format on a DVD determines a video encoding at 29.97 frames per second, a resolution suited to NTSC televisions (Americas, Japan) and limited regional compatibility, requiring a conversion for playback outside those zones.

    Where can NTSC DVDs be found?

    • Movies and series : Most American productions (Hollywood) are distributed in NTSC.
    • Video games : Consoles such as the PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo (for the American market) often use NTSC DVDs.
    • Software : Some software or applications may be provided in an NTSC version.

    I suppose it’s the CD/DVD player that was "updated" and had its Region changed on this occasion (via the driver, for example). Whereas before, the necessary was done so that it reads all Regions, it’s been a long time.

    There you go, we learn things..!!
