My screen is not detecting video input / PC

Hello,

I'm reaching out to you because I'm having an issue with my screen. Of course, after reading the title, you might be thinking "Again?!". Yes, again! The problem of "No video input" followed by "Switching to standby mode" with a black screen has only occurred since I replaced my supposedly defective Khüler 620 cooling system with a Shadow Rock 2. What changed with that: one of the four slots for the RAM sticks is now inaccessible. I've tried almost all the solutions suggested online: clearing CMOS via the battery and the CMOS reset button (tried separately) with a waiting time and no power; swapping the RAM sticks; and testing the screen on the computer from which I'm posting (and it works). So it's probably a GPU issue, right? Except that I don't notice anything abnormal on that side: both fans are spinning, and the two green LEDs are lit as usual.

I don't understand where this problem is coming from!!!

I'd love to access my config to post it for you, but... well, you understand. What I can tell you is that my CPU is an Intel, my motherboard is an Asus M4A89GTD PRO (the box is in front of me), my GPU is an Asus Geforce GTX 560 (if I remember correctly, I might be wrong), my PSU is a CoolerMaster 600W Silent Pro Gold, and my screen is a Philips E-line 237E3QPH.

I have the feeling that my GPU is dead, but maybe I'm mistaken?

[edit]: I also tried connecting the screen to the VGA port on the motherboard, and it still doesn't detect it (I had already tried this connection before changing the CPU, and the result was the same, but maybe there's something to explore?)

Thank you

Hello,

You’re telling us that you have an inaccessible RAM slot; did you remove one of the RAM sticks to install its cooler? Some motherboards are designed for dual channel, so if you remove one, you end up in your situation.

... I placed my two sticks in slots 3 and 4, and the screen detects... Thanks for the response, I thought I had tried all combinations > < !

Thanks again, really, I was starting to despair over my computer :)

[edit]: just before marking it as resolved, I read in my motherboard manual that it's better to install the sticks in 1010 or 0101. By placing them in 0011, am I losing performance?
