Good evening,
I would like to connect my alarm system (the telephone line for remote monitoring) to my Freebox. Has anyone tried it, and what are the technical specifications?
Thank you in advance.

Fortunately, the new Freebox Revolution has arrived with its array of connections. See this site for ADSL alarms, it's very clear:

In the case of total unbundling, the question is more complex, as the only working outlet is the one behind the Freebox.
It's more complicated because the voltage of this outlet does not allow connecting multiple devices, nor can an extension cord be plugged in...
Therefore, one must either amplify the outlet at the output of Free: I have only found fairly expensive mini PABXs (150 euros) so far,
or switch to VoIP with a SIP account, which is a complex solution (a router is needed to redirect the PSTN line of the alarm to the Internet).
But the weak point of this solution is the power supply; in addition, the entire setup (Freebox, router) must be on an uninterruptible power supply, otherwise, any power outage will prevent the alarm from making calls!!!
Here are the solutions I see; I have not yet implemented either of the two... I am still looking for the best cost/security compromise.
If you have any opinions....

By removing the France Télécom telephone line to keep my alarm system in my house, I was supposedly told that I should run a 4-pair cable from the control panel to the Freebox "Revolution" and then switch to unbundled service with Free, which would be about 35 meters of cable from the basement to the upstairs, knowing that the television upstairs is connected to the Freebox. What solutions could you suggest, without having to run a cable, as mentioned above?
Thank you in advance.
Thank you in advance.
Sorry, but the mobile phone is not a given like antibiotics; it's a great plus, I won't deny that, it solves almost all phone problems. But I would say this: my alarm is a multi-zone Avidsen from http://www.domotic-zen.fr, and it's a traditional RTC alarm. However, unlike many people, I set up my connection at the line head, that is, inside my T socket. To then connect the phones, I used a master ADSL filter box from Léa, and it works perfectly, no sync drop. Okay, you need to know a bit about it, but it's worth it.
Hello,
the tentor solution with the avidsen alarm is a bit complicated but it works. There is also a new alarm: the myfox alarm which was specifically designed to connect to an ADSL box, so it is compatible with any ADSL box. You also have the Mhouse alarm which uses either the phone line or GSM since it has both technologies.
See you soon

Hello,
Be careful with GSM transmitters, there are many systems that can jam GSM. Personally, I have an Optium KA560 alarm from https://www.alarmania.fr/ that manages both GSM transmission and ADSL. GSM is good, but in my opinion, it's not secure enough because it can be easily jammed. Regarding the initial question, you generally just need to connect the alarm control panel to the telephone jack of the Freebox.
Best regards

I advise against it because France Telecom, unlike Freebox, never crashes, even though today's events on the FT network may contradict me.
Hello,
Completely wrong. I had Internet with FT, no issues with the alarm filter. For the simple reason that we have the possibility to install 4 filters. Then I switched to full unbundling with Free. The only thing to do is to remove the filter from your alarm and connect the 4 wires from the circuit board (filter). 2 wires to the telephone line and the other 2 to the telephone set. 2 filters are not compatible with total unbundling with Free, but as I have heard many times, you should have a master filter installed on the said alarm. So if you have Free in unbundling, during commissioning you must have noticed network instability due to your alarm filter, whether professional or private. During your connections, you see the messaging page appearing and disappearing. I had the non-compatible FAI Neuf due to the modem speed, with CanalSat. Hello,

You must first ask if the alarm is compatible via the Internet and not in hardware stores where they are incapable of informing you.
Kind regards

Hello,
I will also be with my Freebox in a few days. I unsubscribed from France Telecom and I hope I didn't make any mistakes... because I have a security system with a telephone central unit.
How can I connect the alarm system (telephone line) to the Freebox?
Thank you,
see you,
Thierry

At that rate, you might as well go to the inventor and leader of the ADSL alarm, which is Myfox. You can connect cameras, home automation, detectors...: http://www.alloalarme.fr/62-alarme-myfox
Hello,
Totally false. I had internet with FT, no problem with the alarm filter. For the simple reason that we have the possibility to put 4 filters. Then I switched to full unbundling with Free. The only thing to do is to remove the filter from your alarm and connect the 4 wires from the circuit board (filter). 2 wires to the phone line and the other 2 to the phone set. 2 filters are not compatible in full unbundling with Free, but as I've repeatedly heard, a master filter should be installed on the said alarm. So if you have Free in unbundled mode, upon activation you must have noticed network instability due to the alarm filter, whether it be professional or residential. During your connections, you see the messaging page appear and disappear. I had the non-compatible ISP Neuf due to the modem's speed, with Canalsat and Canal + the image and sound were unstable. You must first ask if the alarm is compatible.

Hello,
you can connect certain central units (telephone transmitters) to the Freebox. You just need to take a male plug to put it behind the box and connect the wires to a free pair in the wall socket, and ensure the continuity of this pair throughout the house to the central unit. However, if there is no more power, there will be no more box and therefore no more remote monitoring. It is possible to add a GSM transmitter to the system that works as a backup in case of loss of telephone line. Or you can add a transmitter that operates in polling with the remote monitoring, meaning that the connection between the home transmitter and the remote monitoring is permanent. If it is interrupted, the remote monitoring is notified.
there you go for the information

I have a DIAGRAL alarm that is 10 years old, and I no longer have a telecom service to alert me when there is a problem. What should I do??? I've been told to change my transmitter and install a GSM, but which operator should I choose to reduce costs and have peace of mind? Thank you for replying, ninie.
I completely installed a GSM system for my Powermax Pro, which was strongly recommended by the site where I bought it https://www.alarmes-discount.fr/ and I don't regret it at all because unlike my neighbor who has the same system as me, he constantly has interruptions due to the synchronization of his Freebox, so you can do what you like but I highly recommend a GSM module connected to the alarm.
Hello,
All of these explanations inspire me: "why keep it simple when you can make it complicated!"
Here’s what I’m considering:
- I normally connect my Révolution to the unbundled line,
- I connect my transmitter directly to the Révolution,
- I then use 2 unused wires from my old wall telephone installation to connect the phone to the other wall sockets, connected behind the transmitter which thus remains at the head of the line... (have I expressed myself clearly and been understood?).
I’m not a technician, but this setup seems logical to me... now is it technically reliable??? I hope so!
If not, let me know what could go wrong before I proceed! Thank you!
Best regards

Hi, Free offers an alarm system service which is the most expensive and includes a visit from a person to monitor your house. I found this information on http://www.comparerdevis.net/travaux_alarmes-securite.htm see you soon Wink
