For those using Internet Explorer 8.0.6, if the "Download Video" plugin is not working, then the solution can be found in the following steps.
* Uninstall and then download the new version of "Real Media Player".
* Run "Ccleaner" on the registry to remove all entries left after installation.
* Install the new version of "Real Media Player".
Check once the software is installed that the "plugin" appears whenever a video is active on your web page. If it does not appear, then you need to perform the following functions.
* Open an "Internet Explorer" window
* Click on the "Tools" menu then "Internet Options".
* A new window will appear.
* Go to the "Programs" tab.
* Click on the "Manage add-ons" button.
* Select "Toolbars and Extensions" and a list of functions will appear on the right side.
* Look for "RealPlayer Downloader and Record Plugin for Internet".
* Check that the "Plugin" is active. If the button above the "Close" button is labeled "Enable", then click it so that it changes to "Disable". Your "Plugin" is now functional.
You can now download your favorite videos.

Hello,
I may have an acceptable temporary solution ... for now ... I regularly go to amazon.fr to listen to album clips and I've encountered the same problem as you.
Since the plugin doesn't work on Firefox but works on IE8, you just need to use it once on IE8 to allow the media controller.
Next, install the IE Tab plugin to simulate IE on Firefox and when you go to a site like the one mentioned earlier, the listening window doesn't work ... click on the Firefox symbol that appears at the bottom right of your page, and then the IE logo shows up and it's all magic ... it works again ...
Moreover, IE Tab remembers the engine to use based on the site, so you just need to repeat the operation for all the sites that interest you.
I hope I have provided you with a viable solution and I salute you.

Hi,
I have the same problem as you. Real Player is not working anymore.
At first, I thought it was a problem due to the latest Firefox update, but after trying it on Internet Explorer, I noticed it wasn't working there either.
Can anyone help us, please?

I have the latest version (7?) of I.E., and Real doesn't work.
Not compatible either? Or a bug in my configuration?
Not compatible either? Or a bug in my configuration?
wait for me, 15 days ago everything was working fine and now there’s nothing, none of my downloaded videos on Explorer can be played anymore.
In fact, I think they simply removed it from the newer versions of Internet Explorer and Firefox... I desperately tried not to "update" the versions I had that worked with the Real Player Browser Record Plugin, but the update eventually happened automatically, deleting it, and now I'm desperate... Is there any way to get that plugin back??
It's working again, it's simple. You install the beta version 3.6 of Firefox, then after installing it, you go to the Mozilla site, type "Firefox module" in the search engine, go to "plugins" marked on the left side, and you take Real Player. You reinstall it, it should take longer, especially regarding the bar for recovering the latest files. Finally, normally, go to YouTube, put on a video, and the icon above the video will reappear. It works for me, so there’s no reason it shouldn't work for you. I hope I helped you.
Indeed, robin73 is right; it works again by downloading the beta version 3.6 of firefox and then reinstalling RealPlayer. The "download this video" function is available again when surfing with the Firefox browser for those who do not want to use IE just to use this function of RealPlayer!!!
Thank you very much, robin73, for sharing this excellent solution...

Hello and thank you. I'm going to try it, by the way, it even crashed my computer beautifully. Formatting, etc... I'm so frustrated I don't even dare to touch it anymore.
First of all, hello everyone! Let me explain my problem. Well, with Real Player, I download videos from the internet, but when I play them, I can't watch them completely; they stop after a while! It's super annoying, and I'm really not a whiz at computers and all that, so finding the solution myself is just an impossible mission! Thank you in advance for reading and for your time spent on my insignificant problems compared to others in this world!

First solution: Disable Pepper Flash
1. Open Google Chrome
2. Type about:plugins in the address bar
3. Click on Details at the top right of the window.
4. You should see 3 versions of Flash in the first entry. Click Disable for the first one (where you should see a path containing PepperFlash like this:
C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\21.0.1180.60\PepperFlash\pepflashplayer.dll).
5. Close and restart Chrome.

Hello,
I found the solution to the problem of the Real Player download icon not appearing in Chrome or any other browser when hovering the mouse!
Chrome:
First, close Chrome.
Open Real Player, go to Preferences / Download and Recording, disable the checkbox: Enable downloading and recording from the Web... Close Real Player.
Reopen Real Player and reactivate the checkbox: Enable downloading and recording from the Web...
Open Chrome, search for a video and you will see the Real Player download icon appear!
For those who downloaded Chrome and the plugin that allows downloading from the Web:
RealPlayer HTML5Video Downloader did not show up in extensions, follow the trick mentioned above and the extension will appear in your extensions!
For those who have Chrome and the trick mentioned above does not work, go to Chrome's extensions, disable: RealPlayer HTML5Video Downloader and close Chrome. Reopen Chrome and reactivate the Real Player plugin.
Firefox:
Open Firefox, go to Tools/Options/General.
In General, click on Manage Add-ons, go to Plugins, disable RealPlayer (tm) HTML5VideoShim Plug-in.
Close Firefox and reopen it, then reactivate RealPlayer (tm) HTML5VideoShim Plug-in.
Internet Explorer:
Open IE, go to Tools/Internet Options/Programs.
In Programs, click on Manage Add-ons.
In Show, select All Add-ons, look for RealNetworks, Inc.
If the add-on RealPlayer Download and Record Plugin for Internet Explorer is disabled, enable it by clicking on the line: RealPlayer Download and Record Plugin for Internet Explorer and click on Enable.
If the add-on is enabled, disable it, close IE and reactivate the add-on.
PS for IE, if you do not have the Menu Bar at the top of the IE page, position your mouse at the top of the page, right-click and select Menu Bar.

The Real Player plugin does not work with Chrome and Mozilla, I just checked.
For those using Mozilla Firefox, Real Player does not work due to a compatibility issue between the RealPlayer Browser Record plugin and Mozilla, and apparently, no solution has been found with Mozilla.

With Chrome, I uninstalled the plugin and Chrome no longer offers it in its Web Store...

So apparently it would only work with Internet Explorer.
Moreover, this plugin has been causing issues for quite a few years, and I haven't found a solution, so my post from December 2011 is outdated.

Attention, the Real Player software installed on your PCs needs an update; indeed, version 15 must be installed;

I see in the settings that it will only work on Chrome and Internet Explorer browsers... Now I need to find the plugin for Chrome that I just removed and can't find in the Web Store... I'll be back with updates...

Hello everyone, I'm not very great with computers but I'll try to be clear. My brother had me install RealPlayer to download videos. The problem is that it worked the day I installed it, there was a small window in the top right corner that I clicked on and the video downloaded very quickly. The issue is that the next day when I turned on my PC, I wanted to try again and the window was gone, so now I can't download anything. Can someone explain to me why? Thank you.
Hello.
I am new to the forum, and I have the same problem as you.
There is a plugin compatible with Real Player that I have been using for several months. It's called VideoDownloadHelper, and it has exactly the same downloading function as the Real Player Browser Plugin.
For it to be compatible again, we will have to wait for an update from Firefox or RealPlayer.

Good evening, how does it work, I have exactly the same problem, Chrome systematically disables the "download" extension (downloader) on RealPlayer Cloud, and this has been happening for a few days, everything was working very well before, thank you for kindly explaining the reasons to me, is it a "security" problem (?) or a "firewall", best regards, batoivre.
So I downloaded Real Player, I activated the "Download this video" icon on the internet, I also activated Real P., and it doesn't work when I go on YouTube; the icon doesn't show up, so I uninstalled it and downloaded another one, and now the problem is that the icons don't appear on my desktop even though I specified that I wanted them to show up, and when I go on YouTube it still doesn't work!!
Who can help me? It's really urgent!!
Thank you
Can someone please help me?! Thank you.
