Hello,
once again like Sunday and Monday I'm having a problem with my Freebox which stops at step 2 of authentication, is it me or is it a general issue? I'm in Toulon, thank you.

well, the solution is simple really (even though I admit I got a bit worked up). What you need to know is that the boxes are useless for this step, so the procedure is as follows:
1-take the 2 power supplies disconnected and unplugged
2-place them next to each other
3-plug them in electrically one after the other without waiting
4-press the small black button on the first power supply and then quickly on the one for the second
5-wait for the 2 indicators on each power supply to stop blinking
6-phew, the 2 power supplies are synchronous and can communicate with each other (without that, we stay stuck at step 2)
7-reconnect the power supplies to the corresponding devices (making sure that we still have the sync, meaning both indicators lit up steadily; otherwise, it means we're too far away or there's an obstacle: mirrored surface, reflective panel...)
8-well, it should work
there you go
see you later

Tip for the FREEBOX stuck on step 2.
If the hard reboots of both boxes didn't help, connect an Ethernet cable from the ADSL box to the FREEBOX HD. From there, the TV restart steps will proceed without any issues. However, since the Ethernet cable is no longer connected for the internet, reconnect it to the PC to regain internet access. The freeplugs or a standard Ethernet cable will be connected to the HD.
See you!

Hello,
I am writing to you regarding the issues encountered with FREE. I also had problems with the TV. Each time the box would get stuck either on "NETWORK" or on "STEP 2" during the reset.
Sometimes it works, but then it goes back to being stuck.
I found MY SOLUTION and it works!!!
Actually, the cable from my box was connected to a power strip. I simply unplugged it and plugged it back into a wall socket by itself. I think the box doesn't like being in the company of other sockets.
Give it a try; maybe it will work for you too.
Best regards.

I just had the same issue.
In my case, I followed the procedure to pair the freeplug.
Press the push button on freeplug 1.
Then (quickly) press the push button on freeplug 2.
Attention: you need to press for about 1 second, not 2 or 3 as indicated in the Free manual.
Good luck.

Good evening!
So I have the solution if, like me, your Freebox is stuck on NETWORK or STAGE 2 during a hard reboot
Actually, it's because the information is not passing through the Freeplugs.
So you might say, well, if the orange and green lights are fixed on each plug, it doesn't necessarily mean the sync is good.
Solution:
- Plug your TV box plug into the same socket as the ADSL box plug
(no need for an Ethernet cable between the two boxes)
- Press and hold the black button on the TV box plug for 10 seconds: only the green light will remain
- The green light will also stay green on the ADSL box
- Put your TV box back in its original position
- Sync: meaning 3 seconds on each plug within 2 minutes
And there you go!!

I had the same problem and it's actually really simple,
first we unplug the power cord from the HD box but keep it plugged into the outlet, then as creex indicated, just synchronize the two plugs using the two black buttons; when the two orange lights are on, we plug the cord back into the HD box while holding the button to reboot it in FIREMWARE mode, then SURPRISE step 2, then 3, then 4; there you go, it worked perfectly for me, I hope I helped you ;)

Hello,
The same issue:
Connecting the 2 Freeboxes with the provided yellow Ethernet cable is essential the first time for the Freebox HD to be recognized and identified.
Problem solved.

Simply put, the problem with step 2 is currently due to the Fbx HD whose MAC address starts with 0007CB92.
If you find yourself in this situation, go to the Univers Freebox website, create a topic in the Fbx section where you specify that your Fbx is stuck at step 2 and that its MAC address starts with 0007CB92.
Afterwards, a staff member (either a moderator or an admin, but not a "simple member" ;) ) will ask you for your contact information, provide it to them (via PM), and a new Fbx will be sent to you for an exchange ;)
Follow the steps in this topic (it's exactly the issue in question):
https://forum.universfreebox.com/viewtopic.php?t=9683
And your problem will be resolved ;)
Note, this only applies if your MAC address starts with 0007CB92; if this is not the case, the problem lies elsewhere, and in that case, you can also create a topic on Univers Freebox (if you wish, of course ;) ), and you will receive specialized help from Free.
Regarding the Hard Reboot, there is an excellent tutorial here:
https://forum.universfreebox.com/viewtopic.php?t=3676
There you go, I hope I was able to help you, and especially if you go to Univers Freebox, I can assist you even more ;)
Best regards

I had an issue with my Freebox HD: it was stuck on step 2.
So I pressed the black button on the ADSL Freeplug (for about 2 seconds) and then immediately pressed the one on the HD box (for 2 seconds as well). My HD box then went through the different steps and restarted. And it worked again.
However, there might be a problem with the display. You just need to go to the Freebox TV mosaic, then to Settings; Hard Disk, Enable. And there you go, the picture displays normally.
If this can help someone...

Hello,
After experiencing the same problem, I had to hard boot my box (ADSL) and then press the black button on the powerline adapter. The initialization happened on its own and it works.

Hi Vincent
I had the same problem. I rebooted several times and got ERROR 2. I let my HD box cool down for 10 minutes, then reconnected it while pressing the middle button until the FIRMWARE appeared, then everything fell into place.

Thank you Boonty38, this solved my problem...
after updating and getting stuck at step 2/*
simply a synchronization of the 2 plugs...
(unplug-->replug)
everything works wonderfully...
once again, well done and thank you: Boonty38

ERROR STEP 2 OR BLOCKED ON NETWORK ==> To know, the synchronization must be done with the yellow ethernet cable, remove it from the main TV box and connect it to the secondary one, then synchronize and it works!!!!
Once the steps are completed, you can unplug and reconnect the secondary box with the other cable. You can then wrap up your second ethernet cable!!
I hope this helps you, for me it's all good!

I had the same issue, and really a big thank you to everyone who posted messages, it really helped me. I rebooted the Free box, reset the plugs, and now everything works, thanks to you all, fortunately the community is here.
If it helps, as a new owner of the freebox, I had the same issue with the infamous "network" display on the HD decoder and the problem was that my free plugs were simply not synced properly because the explanation states that the LED must be steady but does not specify the color it should be. The LED should indeed be a steady green light; mine was a steady red.
I forgot to mention that the synchronization of the Freeplug adapters works well during their setup, but when I reconnect them with the boxes, it seems like they're not connecting anymore because the orange light doesn't turn on. It feels like the two Freeplugs don't want to synchronize when I reconnect them with the boxes.
My setup worked for a year, but since today, now that I've got my connection back, nothing for the TV.
Thank you for your help.

Hello
I had the same problem. Actually, it’s an issue with the association of the freeplugs. I had properly paired the freeplugs, but apparently, it wasn't done correctly.
If you are stuck on step 2 authentication, you need to reset the freeplugs.
How to do it?
1. Keep them plugged into the same power strip but disconnect them from the Freebox and the HD box
2. Then press the buttons on both freeplugs for at least 10 seconds, until they start blinking
3. Finally, press the button on each of the freeplugs in succession.
4. If it’s blinking, it means they are synchronizing! Wait until it stops and the orange lights are stable
5. Reconnect the Freebox and HD box
6. That's it, you’ve passed step 2!!!
7. Problem solved!
I hope it works for you as well as it did for me!

Result = almost immediate operation. Everything works in less than 1 minute.
The electrical network or the multiple extension cords must be interfering with the data transmission in the electrical wires.
