Hello,

I retrieved an HP PC from a bankrupt company, but I can't access the BIOS because it requires a password. I removed the battery for 30 minutes and there is no BIOS reset on the motherboard.

What can I do?

Thank you in advance for your time.

    Good evening,

You need to discuss this with the company in question; nothing allows us to know the exact origin of the computers in question here on the forum.

    A) Criminal Liability

The Godfrain law of January 8, 1988, although drafted at a time when the Internet was not yet discussed and whose provisions have been incorporated into the Penal Code in a chapter titled "On offenses against automated data processing systems," allows for the punishment of all unauthorized intrusions into a computer system. The penalties vary depending on whether the intrusion has had an impact on the system in question or not.

Article L.323-1 of the New Penal Code states that "accessing or remaining fraudulently in all or part of an automated data processing system is punishable by two years' imprisonment and a fine of €60,000." These systems include, among others, websites.
