Hello everyone,
I currently have an HP Pavilion DV7 3010sf that won't start:
In fact, I have a black screen at startup and two LEDs that are flashing. Anyway, I've done my research, and the problem seems to be a corrupted BIOS. There is a trick at HP which involves pressing Windows + B + the power button at the same time to recover the BIOS and restore everything to normal. For this, you need to have the original hard drive inside with the appropriate HP_tools partition...
I don't have a hard drive in the PC, which is my problem, but there's still a solution: creating a USB stick with the BIOS recovery on it. But that's where I get lost. I follow the procedure, I download the BIOS update from the HP website, and after extraction, it launches the "insydeflash" software, which apparently allows you to flash your BIOS properly, but only when the PC is still functioning...
I'm quite convinced that the issue is indeed with the BIOS on my DV7 because when I press win + B at startup, there is a response from the PC that seems to be searching for something; it even beeped once... But it finds nothing, which is normal since there is no hard drive.
So, does anyone know how I can recover my BIOS on this model by booting from a USB stick at startup??
Thank you very much.

Hello
What does it do when booting on a live CD?
What does it do when connecting an external monitor?

Hello,
Same thing, systematic black screen. I'm actually looking for a way to create a USB drive with the BIOS recovery for this model (HP DV7 3010sf). If I had the original hard drive, my issue would probably be resolved already.
One solution might also be to find the HP_tools partition that is automatically created on all 3010sf models and download it somewhere so that I can make it bootable on a 2.5 hard drive as if I had the original hard drive... But where can I find that?
Here's the link to what I'm trying to do:
https://support.hp.com/fr-fr/document/c02723595
But I'm stuck because I don't have the HP BIOS update utility that launches, there's just insydeflash and I can't do anything else.
Help me.
Thanks
