You're not alone, I'm on the same OS X and I have the same problem. I suppose the security protocols have changed.

The same issue happens with Mail, which no longer accepts the email addresses of certain ISPs, like SFR, which forces you to use the web browser, which doesn't have the same convenience and ease of notifying email reception.

Mail no longer accepts the creation of new email accounts in this version.

I was actually looking for a new email client for this old version of Mail/Mac.

When it's urgent, it's already too late (Talleyrand)
When everything has failed, read the manual or come to CCM ;)
