Disable write protection MP3 player

Solved

Hello,
I bought an MP3 player about ten days ago that has been working fine until now.
Since yesterday, I can no longer access the files on the player; an error message indicates that the files are write-protected and that I need to disable the write protection.
I searched a bit but cannot find a way to disable this write protection!
Can you help me?
Thank you in advance!!

Simply remove the "Hold" that locks the mp. Disconnect the device and reconnect it, and logically it should run....

J'ai acheté une carte pour mon portable mais depuis pas longtemps je ne peux plus y toucher. Mais comment on fait pour désactiver le "hold"? Merci d'avance, réponds-moi s'il te plaît.

Thank you! It's crazy how just a tiny button accidentally pressed can cause panic!
Luckily, we have your comments to give us the solution, we would be lost without you lol! I feel so silly!
Thanks again!

Thank you, but my hold button is broken and it's not activated, so I don't understand how this happens. When I turn it on, it still works, which means it doesn't work anymore and it's not activated, but then why is the write protection activated and how can I remove it? Thank you in advance, I’m not a pro at computing :S

Hi!
Hi Celine, I would like to know how you finally solved your problem, because I can't figure it out....

Who wants to help a clueless person like me?
Alright, here I go:
I bought a MEMUP USB MP3 Music Drive 1 about a month ago. I put my songs on it, but now I can't delete them, ¤-¤
the killer message: wmplayer.exe - Write protection error - Unable to write to the disk because it is write-protected. Remove the write protection from the volume in drive E:.
But, I don't know how to do that!
All of this with Windows Media Player for my little music transfer, on Windows XP. What to do in this incomprehensible world?? argh...: HELP!!!!!
THANK YOU for your kindness!

If your MP3 has a hold button, you need to disable it!
It happened to me too and when you connect your MP3 to your PC, you need to remove this security!!!

Hello,

I cannot modify or delete my files on my USB drive, but I can copy from it.
An error message appears when I open it (unable to write to the disk because it is write-protected. Remove the write protection from the volume, disk name, in the drive \device\harddisk1\dr5).
Then I click on retry to get rid of it, but every time I want to save, another error message appears (unable to create or replace, file name, the disk is write-protected, remove the protection or choose another disk).
I tried to format the drive, but that didn't work either.
Not to mention my USB drive has neither a lock button nor a slider nor r1... and it is not an mp3 USB drive.

I had a message saying "remove write protection" when I went to the removable disk...

Now it says unable to copy to this file...

Hello everyone,
I'm going to continue on the same note!
On my USB MP3 drive, I only have a few folders that I can't delete. When I try to delete them, the first error message appears saying "read-only file" blah blah blah, then a second message tells me "can't delete because file is write-protected." When I go to properties, the "read-only" box is indeed checked, but it's not highlighted so I can't uncheck it. So my question is: how do I uncheck it??? Because I suspect that's the problem, but I don't quite know how to do it!
If anyone has a solution, I'm all ears!
Thank you

Hello everyone, I have read your help and your answers, but none correspond to how to remove "write protection." Does anyone have any idea what this could be because I tried to archive it but it automatically goes back to read-only.

Who will be my savior?

I feel the same way, how do you do it?
Thank you.

Have you tried moving the button during formatting? I managed to do it, you move it from side to side, and see if your hold button goes all the way through.
Just try that for now.

Hi, I have the same problem but only in the "properties" of my mp3 there is no "read-only" indication.
I would like to know what to do? If you could help me it would be nice of you, thanks

Hello everyone
Well, this is the first time I'm participating in this forum and I hope my advice corresponds to your questions and provides solutions to your problems.
For the 2go keys and more, there is only one solution
- to remove the write protection, follow these steps:
1 _ Insert a Windows XP CD into your drive to reformat your PC
2 _ Then, when the program asks you to select the partition where you need to install XP, choose your key
3 _ After that, the system will ask you to format your key (space of your key)
4 _ Accept and format your key in FAT32 mode
Note that the size of Pro XP needs to be larger than the size of your key; otherwise, the operation will fail.

It's true, well thought out, I'm sure it works but there's a catch! For those who have Vista, it's not possible! I also have a little problem with my 2GB SD card that is write-protected! I would like to have a concrete solution please!!!

I regularly buy my music on iTunes. For some time now, some of them are protected once they are on my PC? I can’t convert them to MP3 to put them in my player, and I’m afraid I won’t be able to burn them.
How can I convert them? If I downloaded them legally, I should be able to do what I want with them.
Thank you for your help.
