Well, Avast is indicating that I have outdated drivers and that I should install Avast Driver Updater to fix my problem.

I have a doubt because I bought my laptop new in December 2022 to have Windows 11 since my old PC was not compatible, so I still think that the drivers installed on it shouldn't be outdated. I think they want me to take another subscription. I already have: Avast Premium Security Antivirus, Avast Cleanup, and Avast VPN. Until now, I've always had Avast on my PCs because I'm happy with it, but now I'm starting to have questions: after each scan, they tell me everything is fine except for these outdated drivers and that I need to click on resolve (and of course, the installation of the Driver) and I click on ignore.

That's my problem and I would like to have an answer about these so-called outdated drivers because my PC is running perfectly. Thank you.

Hello,

A basic rule of thumb when a computer is working properly is that there is no need to touch the drivers.

For Avast, the best option is to uninstall it and use instead the built-in antivirus in Windows, which is free and happens to be very effective, plus it consumes half the RAM memory.

Avast is unparalleled when it comes to causing chaos and crashing computers.

Hello,

Other sites or programs do it for free, or in a Giveaway

For example: Search the net for an IOBit Driver Booster Pro Giveaway key

You will eventually find a valid key for six months or a year, I never pay for it.

It's one of the best methods, although it adds its scheduled tasks that you can disable.

But the opportunistic Avast might tell you that it's a virus when you download it <<lol>></lol>

Thank you for the quick response, but I don’t see the connection! What I want to know is when we buy a new computer, the drivers that are installed in it, are they also new, YES or NO? If the answer is yes, they should last a long time, and therefore Avast is telling me nonsense.

Hello,

Avast is known for using more or less dubious methods to push consumption, but if you're happy with it, you have to deal with it.

This race for the latest driver is a bit pointless, even dangerous; I've had Windows silently install a new graphics driver that only caused the hardware to crash because it didn't match the manufacturer's latest operational driver for the aging PC.

Moreover, such an update is not necessarily related to security concerns, and it’s unclear why Avast or anyone else, who can't tell the difference, gets involved in the name of so-called antivirus security; in short, and regardless of what you say, software that does what it's not asked to do cannot be recommended.

In essence, even if a PC was manufactured on the day you bought it, that doesn’t exclude the possibility of new drivers being released 3 days later, but that's generally not even the case; the PC in question was most often manufactured several months prior: in a comparable domain, I experienced a leap of 2 Android versions on a smartphone right out of the box and an update of the multimedia software in my brand-new car as soon as it left the garage.
