How to make the Alcatel 860 Voice Duo ring

Hello,
I just realized that my Alcatel F860 Voice Duo landline phone is no longer ringing. When people call, they immediately reach a voicemail saying that the person they are trying to reach, which is me, is unavailable and to call back.
I checked the volume on the handset, it’s turned on and the volume is set to ringtone 1. I looked through the list to see if there were any blocked numbers (even though I don't block numbers), and it's empty.
It was still working yesterday or the day before, I'm not sure anymore, but this problem is very recent. Also, it prevents me from making calls. Yesterday, I tried to reach a friend, and after dialing the saved number, it just stopped there. Not even the ringing that indicates it's ringing on the other person's end. However, it worked perfectly when I called them from my mobile. I don't know if it matters since I've never paid attention, but on the main base, there are two small lines on the little screen.
Until now, I haven't found the solution or the reason for this problem. That's why I'm turning to you. If anyone in the forum has an idea of what it might be. What’s bothering me is that voicemail that automatically kicks in. It does this with everyone, so it's not a matter of a blocked number. The day before yesterday, I remember the phone turned on. After a while, voicemail was activated on speakerphone (why? I don't know). I heard that this was a voicemail on which you couldn't leave a message and that you had to call back. Is that what triggered everything? Moreover, I never requested a voicemail on which you can't leave a message. Unless the housekeeper moved some wires while dusting....
Thank you in advance for your help. Otherwise, I'll have to call the seller where I bought the phone, but I know in advance that it will cost me between 75-91 Euros. But when you don’t know anything, you can only say amen... They really take advantage of it, those guys.
I look forward to your responses. Have a good end of the evening. And a good weekend if I don't get a response by then.

Hello,
Basically, you cannot make or receive calls...?
Try resetting the SFR box. To do this, cut off the power supply to the box, wait a minute, and then turn the box back on.
On the display of the base, are there 2 fixed or blinking dashes?
Also check if your voicemail is in answer-only mode (REP.SEUL) or in answer-recorder mode (REP.ENREG). The answer-only mode does not allow leaving a message.

Hello,
Absolutely. No way to make or receive calls. I don’t really see what the point is, anyway.
I will try what you suggest, Baladur13.
For a few minutes, I even wondered if it was an operator issue, but I have a TV-Internet-Phone package and the first two work, so that’s not the problem. It’s not the voicemail memory either, as I’ve cleared everything, including received calls and those in the log. So it’s not a lack of space.
I’ve looked everywhere regarding the voicemail. But even in SOLO mode, it shouldn’t prevent me from calling. I really can’t figure out where this might be coming from. Right now, I’m stuck.
I regret that certain things aren’t noted in the user guides like the one for this phone. At no point is it mentioned that if you perform such and such maneuver, it disables the device and how to get it working again.
Thank you for your help, Baladur13. I am disabled in a wheelchair due to an accident where I fell onto the RER tracks; the train was arriving just at that moment, which cost me a leg. If I could walk, I would go to electronics stores to ask for advice, but right now, I have no one to help me. I lost my mother and my husband in 2020 and my father last March; they were all a great help in my life. Now, I have no one (family & friends) who could assist me. I turned to the Internet, and it’s very useful in helping me. My husband was a "whiz" at computers, phones, and all that sort of thing, and he was a great help to me.
In any case, thank you very much, and you know, you can see a black cat in the dark (unless it’s not there, of course!). I’ve had several black cats, and you can spot them in the dark. Unless it’s completely dark :)
Good evening,
The problem is that the cable goes behind a large piece of furniture that occupies the entire wall. There is indeed a part of the cable (which is attached to what? I don't know.)
One could think that it's going to the socket behind the furniture, but I'm not sure. In any case, I'm not the one to guarantee that it is.
That's why, at my level of knowledge, I'm hesitant to do it. Now, if I'm told that it's supposed to be this way and that it won't cause any problems because it can't be otherwise, I'll follow.
Right now, I'm a bit troubled by the majority of the cable being behind the furniture. To access it, the entire piece of furniture has to be moved. Some guys from SFR came one day to install the equipment and their system, and they left almost in a hurry. They didn't even have me sign their visit notice, which is important for them. But right after, I understood: all the little doors and shelves were taken apart. The doors are all misaligned, and I have no recourse, since they didn't have me sign the visit notice. Not too clever!
Anyway, they placed all the cables behind the furniture, and it has to be moved. So asking someone for help. But is there a risk that the shelves might completely come apart and end up falling?
I really don't know what I can do. Would unplugging the cable from the base of the phone be the right thing to do? My landline depends on SFR. If I mentioned Free, I was mistaken. It's my mobile phone that's registered with Free.
Anyway, thank you very much in advance for your help.
Oh yes, I almost forgot: I managed to get rid of the two fixed dashes that were on the base. However, I can't say how I managed to make the two zeros appear instead of the dashes. It happened when I was trying to find the solution in the user guide. At one point, it must have mentioned a button that I pressed and the zeros appeared.
Hello, the 2 dashes mean that the answering machine is disabled and the 2 zeros mean that it is operational.
Normally, when it's disabled, the box's answering machine takes over.
Otherwise, check the directory to see if you have any numbers saved as VIPs represented with the ! sign at the end of the name.
It should have an effect, but I can't remember which one.
Maybe it's that only VIPs can call through, not the others.
As for Free, it was my mistake... I wrote Freebox instead of SFRbox... I'm sorry.
Unplugging the cable under the base of the phone wouldn't really help.
Have you tried cutting off the power supply to the SFR box?
Regarding the two fixed dashes on the display of the base.
These two dashes indicated that the answering machine was not in service. Once activated by pressing the button located to the right of the display, it indicates 00 (i.e., no messages on the said answering machine).

Good evening,
Well, you know, it was much simpler than that. I called SFR to let them know that I had lost my SFR remote control and during the conversation, the topic came up.
I had never called SFR about this phone issue because I thought they couldn't do anything about it. Just like if I had broken the screen of my TV; they can't do anything. For me, it was the same regarding what was happening to my phone. However, the SFR employee I spoke to on the phone immediately fixed what was wrong. He quickly saw that there was no dial tone and restored it remotely.
And now, everything is working again. It was just a dial tone issue. How did it disappear from my line? That remains a mystery. Anyway, I'm very glad that everything has returned to normal.
And I also want to thank you, Baladur13, for intervening several times to find the solution.
Thanks again and have a great weekend.
My aunt bought this landline phone in November 2022, and often when we try to call her, either it’s busy or it rings normally but doesn’t go to voicemail. Additionally, if she’s not home, the phone starts to heat up, and she has to watch her phone to turn off the call filtering, which is why it sounds busy. But her problem is with the voicemail.
Hello anyway.
Your matter is not very clear...
If it sounds busy, it means the line is currently in use, leading to a voicemail (the voicemail of the operator) provided it is properly set up in their client space. If it rings, you need to wait for at least the number of rings that has been programmed either on the phone's answering machine or on the operator's voicemail (again, this depends on the settings in the client space).
If she is not at home, the phone starts to heat up It is normal for the handset to heat up when charging.
She needs to keep an eye on her phone to remove filtering; that's why it sounds busy
What’s the connection? Filtering allows you to hear the caller who begins to leave a message and to pick up if needed.
Her problem is her answering machine
The important thing is to know how it is set up? Is it a simple answering machine or a recording answering machine? How many rings before it activates? A good setting is 4 rings because typically, by default, the voicemail of her phone operator activates after 5 rings. Finally, you need to go into the client space to see how the voicemail is programmed in case of busy or no answer.

"She needs to check her phone to disable call filtering, that's why it says busy."
What's the connection? The filtering allows hearing the caller who starts leaving their message and to answer if necessary.
Hello,
I have the same problem as the person with the filtering that activates. I’ve looked online for how to remove the call filtering request, so it doesn't activate when authorized people trying to leave a message block the answering machine even without leaving a message.
Let me explain. In call blocking mode -> blocking program, I've set the contact to okay. So far, so good. But when my contacts reach my answering machine without leaving a message, it shows up on my landline phone "filtering?" and the answering machine is blocked, and no one can leave a message until I press the green phone button to stop blocking the answering machine. I can't find anywhere online, as the manual has nothing, a way to remove it to prevent blocking my answering machine.
Do you have any idea?
Hello,
I can't find in the manual what I called 'call filtering'.
This feature, when receiving a call, once the voicemail setup time has passed, automatically activates the speaker allowing you to hear the message the caller is leaving and gives the option to pick up and talk to the caller.
---
This function is normally found in the "Voicemail" section.
-----
Here, it is a question of blocking calls or not.
---
You wouldn't happen to have a number that is both in your contacts and also on the blocked list, would you?
Hello,
I installed the Alcatel F860 voice and I can receive calls on it, but I can't make calls with it. What should I do, please?
Hello,
As mentioned earlier, reset the box.
