Hello,
I currently have a small barebone Mini PC I-J4005, and I would like to change the processor.
Can I replace it with an AMD Ryzen 5 2400G or an AMD Ryzen 5 3600G?
Do these processors have AVX instructions?
Thank you in advance,
Sorry, I am a MAC user and know nothing about PCs.

Hello,
The designation you provide is very incomplete... But if it’s what I think, like Intel NUC, then it’s impossible. Mini PC = Processor probably soldered to the motherboard, inadequate cooling...
( And it’s an Intel platform, incompatible with AMD processors)
Regarding AVX instructions, it has been supported by Intel and AMD processors for a decade (according to Wikipedia :p )
Best regards.-
Indeed, this "low-end" processor does not support AVX instructions ...

Thank you for your response. Actually, I would like to install Age of Empires IV, but when I launch the game from Steam, I get a message saying that I need AVX instructions. I will try to find a solution.
Thank you,
Best regards, -

Yes I know, I bought it for old games that work very well on it, I have a MacBook Pro Max, but I don't want to install Parallels, hence the purchase of the mini PC, too bad for Age of Empires 4
Thank you,
