PC shuts down after processor upgrade

Hello,

I had an i5-2380p CPU 3.1GHz on my computer with an ASUS P8H61 PRO Rev 3.0 motherboard - Intel H61 Chipset - Socket 1155 and an OCZ CoreXStream Series - 500W power supply.
I got a new INTEL - Core i5-3570 - 3.4 GHz processor, and after installation, the PC turns on and then off repeatedly several times. The sockets are good, I don't know where this could be coming from as I'm not an expert in computer hardware.
If someone could help me that would be really great.
Thank you.

A BIOS update may be necessary for the new CPU to be accepted:

Version 4012.

Well seen Epango!
Flou62:
the same socket is not enough to ensure compatibility...
When you switch from a Sandy Bridge CPU (i5-2XXX) to an Ivy Bridge (i5-3XXX), a BIOS update is almost always necessary because the motherboard couldn't be compatible with CPUs that hadn't been released yet!
You need to put the old CPU back in to perform the BIOS update.

Hello,

Did you apply thermal paste? The question may seem silly, but a friend made that mistake.

Yes, by placing the fan on top, it turned on as well.

Ok. If you're sure you've assembled it correctly, the CPU might be defective. I hope someone can help you. Have a good day.

Try to start your PC with just one RAM stick.
