Hello,
HP Pavilion model DV7-3145ef
Windows 7
Network card BROADCOM 802.11
[Freebox] revolution

Problem: recurrent loss of wireless network
Driver updated several times, disabled, re-enabled, uninstalled and reinstalled the driver, nothing works. The problem persists.
More annoying: when I run the Windows diagnostic - troubleshooting, when Windows gets to "reset the wireless network card"..., the PC completely freezes. I've even had a beautiful blue screen!
I haven't found a satisfactory answer during my searches and I'm losing a bit of patience now...
????????
Can a kind soul help me?
Thank you very much.

    Hello kaneagle,
    thanks for the info.
    I've done everything.
    On restart, Windows tries to reinstall the network adapter, but since I have no WiFi, it crashes.
    So, I plugged in an ethernet cable, I get the network, but Windows won't try to reinstall what I uninstalled. ????????
    I'm going in circles and can't get anywhere. I'm a bit clueless with computers and this thing is alive and just does whatever it wants... ????????
    Any brilliant ideas to share?
    Thanks, kaneagle! ????

    Erratum
    : I managed to retrieve the WiFi network (apparently) after reinstalling the network card driver.
    I also unchecked the power management (sleep) for the network cards (I see several different ones ??) during the automatic sleep of the PC.
    (I noticed that network losses occurred after the PC went to sleep and was reactivated). Please let me know if I did right or wrong.
    Wait and see now...
    I'm not super convinced about the long-term durability... To be continued then.

    Give the device identification number of the peripheral
    Look at this --> Find the identification number of a device
    Post the number in your next message.

    --------------------------------------------------------------

    Currently, what is the version and date of the driver?

    Identification Number (that's all that is noted):

    PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4357&SUBSYS_145E103C&REV_01
    PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4357&SUBSYS_145E103C
    PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4357&CC_028000
    PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4357&CC_0280

    Driver :
    Date: 07/10/2015
    Version: 7.12.39.28

    Furthermore, when I uninstall this BROADCOM card, the line

    "Microsoft Virtual WIFI Adapter #4"

    also disappears in the "Network Adapters" section of the Device Manager.
    It might be important to know this... or not...

    Another thing I forgot to mention, yesterday, when I searched for BROADCOM Wireless in Programs and Features, I didn't find it... It wasn't there.

    Download and install --> 7Zip 64 bits

    Try this driver --> Broadcom

    Right-click on the driver --> sp48591.exe
    Select --> 7Zip
    Choose --> extract to "sp48591\"

    Go to Start
    In the Search bar
    Type --> devmgmt.msc and OK.

    Go to Network adapters
    Right-click on the Broadcom wireless card
    Uninstall
    Check --> delete the device
    Uninstall
    Disconnect the network cable (Ethernet) from the PC
    Restart the PC

    Go to Device Manager
    Right-click on the network controller (possibly under Other devices) or Broadcom (under Network adapters)
    Update driver
    Browse my computer for drivers
    Choose from a list of drivers...
    Have disk
    Browse
    Go to the folder of the unzipped driver --> sp48591
    Select the file --> bcmwl6.inf and OK.
    Restart.

    kaneagle,

    I did everything.
    Everything seems to be working correctly.
    Stability to be monitored over time.
    I did not change the power management of the Microsoft Virtual WIFI Adapter #5 (it is allowed to turn off to save energy). We will see in use if new issues arise.

    Thank you immensely for your help. :-))

    Sleep mode for several hours, wake-up --> everything works correctly, no loss of Wi-Fi network.
    I think the problem is solved.
    Thank you for everything! :-))
    I think the topic can be marked as resolved.
