Unable to format microSD as internal?

Hello,

I just installed a 32GB SanDisk microSD card in my Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) running Android 7.0; I would like to use this card as "default" memory since the device's memory is full, but the tutorials I found online are not working:

When I go to "Storage," the SD card appears under "Device Storage," but I only have the "Format" option and not "Format as Internal."

I chose the "Format" option, but I can't find a way to move apps, files, or anything else to the card.

What do I need to do to use my SD card?

Thank you for your help!

Hello,

Let’s say you have two questions on your topic.

1° You use "SDcardFormatter" on your PC to format your microSD card placed in a USB adapter, for example, and you can really format it in a true FAT32...

2° The other topic is: how do I move my files to the MicroSD? Or how do I use it as external memory for my Smartphone? You need to follow the menus in your Settings or "Setting" Storage... and in there, you will be offered the usage options for your memory... You first need to define these things before copying; otherwise, you won't be able to..

Thank you for your response! But I just reformatted the card to FAT32 with my computer and it hasn't changed anything; the "format internally" option still doesn't appear.

Android tells me to go to Settings > Storage, but that's the first thing I did and I hardly have anything in there; I don't see any option that could help me. Just "Device memory: 15.40 GB used out of 16.00 GB" and below "Mobile storage: SD card."

When I go to my images, for example, I can select them, but the only option I see is "delete."
