Storage full on Galaxy J5 2016

Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 and for quite some time now it has been telling me that the storage is full even though I have very few photos, videos, etc. So, I bought a 32GB SD card and was able to transfer the few media files and applications (that allowed it...) to it. But I'm still having storage problems... I checked the settings and out of 16GB of memory, about 5GB is used by the system and Chrome is taking almost 10GB!! So I only have a few poor MB left for small apps... I cannot delete Chrome nor transfer it to the SD card since it is pre-installed... As a result, I can't even receive messages and the phone shuts down by itself and charges I don’t know what to turn back on!
Does anyone have a final solution to this rather unbearable problem?

Hi

if Chrome is taking up 10GB, it's because you have never cleared the cache and data. So clean it by going to settings-applications, then on all or more. Look for your Chrome app, tap on it, and delete everything.

I actually cleared everything, even the favorites, caches, cookies, and everything, and it still remains at 9.2 GB...

Oh wow, it actually works!!!! I had indeed gone into the app settings and cleared caches, etc. but never the data for fear of deleting the few saved passwords...
Thank you so much! Now I have 10GB of extra memory, haha!
