Hello everyone, I just got an Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML and it won't turn on. Even when plugged in. When I did a Google search, I found a few similar issues but they were usually resolved after a day of charging, but it’s been plugged in since this morning and still no reaction... What do you think? Is this a known issue? What should I do?
Another problem: I inserted my SIM card, but since the phone is not turning on, I wanted to retrieve it to put it back in my old phone in the meantime, but I can't remove it! How do you take out the SIM card in a Zenfone 2? It seems stuck...
I’m left without a phone and this Zenfone, which (in addition to arriving 3 days late and not even at the right address, thanks Amazon) doesn’t work: I’m at my wit's end.
I hope you have a solution, thank you in advance!!

Hello everyone!
I had the same problem as you, the phone wouldn't turn on!
I know a bit about smartphones because I often repair them...
To get it working again, you need to know a little and be extremely careful because you have to disassemble this famous Zenphone2.
I will not be responsible for any mishandling, don't attempt the repair if you're not sure of yourself!!!
-----------------------------------------------
Unclip the back cover, remove all the screws, then, using a thin object, like a loyalty card, gently lift the protective cover! Be careful with what's underneath, it's fragile!
Above the battery, there are three flat cables, focus on the third one, it's the battery cable. Disconnect it using the thin object. Wait a few seconds, then reconnect it properly!
Put the protective cover back on, screw it back in, and reclip the back cover.
Finally, press the POWER button. The phone should vibrate and turn on. If it doesn't turn on, try charging it and then starting it up.
It worked for me!
Good luck!

Miracle! He made a sound! A vibration, even two! The battery icon quickly appeared, a little lightning bolt in the center, then with a red charging background, then green, then nothing more. Just a small yellow light in the top right.
It's a day to remember, a date to mark on the calendar, a national holiday, he's alive!
Except that I no longer dare to touch it now, what should I do? Wait for the light to turn green, unplug it and press (long?) the button on top? Does it turn green one day?

Good evening
It seems to me that for the SIM card, you just need to slide the SIM in; at worst, you slide the SIM in one direction and then it should come back on its own.
With a cutter, you should be able to get it out or with a needle.
To my knowledge, there are no known issues with this phone of that kind. Personally, I have it, and it’s really great.

Thank you for your response, I'm going to try to take it out because it doesn't come back on its own at all.
And for the biggest problem, which is that it doesn't turn on at all, any ideas?
When you bought it, did it turn on normally or after a day of charging?
Because right now still nothing, I'm losing hope......

My ASUS Zenfone 2 (ASUS_Z008D) turned off by itself and won't turn back on...
I've taken everything apart... except I can't really see the 3rd ribbon cable that needs to be disconnected. I took a photo of the disassembled phone if you want...
Thanks for your reply.
My initial symptom: the phone refused to charge, and the charging light stayed on (orange).
