Hello,
I have a Samsung 10.1 tablet from 2014, Android 4.4.2.
The tablet came with the TripAdvisor app installed (which I cannot delete). It updates, is visible in Settings / General / Application Manager, but I don't have an icon on the home screen (I must have deleted it one day), nor in the page of downloaded app icons. Therefore, I cannot launch it. I can launch it through Google Play, TripAdvisor page, launch.
How can I recreate the app icon?

In fact, to create a shortcut on the desktop, you need to go to the application manager, touch and hold the icon.
From there, you can place it on your desktop.

If by application manager you mean the screens accessible by a long press on the home screen or by menu + add Apps and Widgets or the 16 small squares in the bottom right, that's exactly the problem. In the list of available icons (Apps page or downloaded Applications), I don’t have the TripAdvisor icon. Hence the inability to place it on the home screen.
