I often encounter cyclic redundancy issues when I install a game or when I copy the entirety of a CD to my hard drive. I would really appreciate being able to work around this problem. Can you help me?

Hello everyone,
After trying countless recipes found here and there on the forums regarding this infamous cyclical redundancy problem, all without success, I simply cleaned my CD with a soft cloth and there, MIRACLE, HALLELUJAH, it works.
A word to all those who might be tempted to use this method, it is now protected by copyright and I will not hesitate to take legal action against any infringer.
Best regards,
J

Oh no! It's not a cleanup that will solve this problem... it's copy-protected. Copy it with DVD Shrink after unlocking it with Any DVD. YOU ONLY COPY DISCS YOU OWN, FOR PERSONAL BACKUP PURPOSES, OTHERWISE YOU'RE ENGAGING IN COPYRIGHTED COPYING AS PER THE LAW.
Hello,
you will need to try with Alcohol 120%. Either by making a direct copy, which will create an image file that you'll need to mount later, or by using the "Xtra Assistant" to select each file individually. If you're not familiar with Alcohol 120% yet, it will take you some time to get used to it, but it's worth looking into.
In case there are issues, it's best to use this assistant and make an "image" backup of each part of the movie - if that doesn't work, I don't know how to proceed - then mount the "image" file created by Alcohol 120% in the Daemon Tools software (free).
You can try disabling AnyDVD or changing the region in the menu by checking region 1 (USA, etc...) instead of region 2 (Europe, etc...).
There’s also a software called "DVDFab" that can sometimes work.
Be careful, if during DVD playback - if it's a DVD - you see little green squares (pixelation of the image), it might mean that the original is damaged. You may then use AnyDVD Ripper with the following path: start, programs, Sly Soft, AnyDVD Ripper, or "rip the DVD".
If you're working on Vista, try using XP instead, you'll encounter far fewer obstacles in this kind of operation.
Good luck.

Your question is redundant; it has already been asked.
In any case, it comes back in a cyclical manner.

hum, the Google search page does provide the solution to the problem but ... it's in English, and since I'm not a polyglot by birth, seeing perfect bilingual, could someone enlighten me a bit more about this darn cyclic rebound problem ...
Personally, I have this problem when I try to install games like Medal of Honor: Allied Assault or The Fall of Max Payne ... maybe it's due to a lens issue because I installed these games before on this PC and everything went perfectly ... I also installed them yesterday at a friend's place, it works, ... where does this problem come from ... need HELP

* So first, a little info for all the gods who said that if we receive this message, it means the media is damaged: THAT'S FALSE!!! (it happened to me and the problem is solved and the disk is in perfect condition)
* Then, for those who might have this problem, a few small things to try (I don’t know which one makes a difference because when I had this issue, I forgot my scientific mind and did everything at once and then retried and it worked, so some might be useless):
- take out the disk (or the floppy) and put it back in
- move the folder where you want to copy your files (anywhere as long as you change the folder) (of course, if you just change its position within the same folder, it won’t help ^^): in the same disk or on another one if you have others, but I just moved it to one of the directories on the same disk)
- it worked for me, but if it doesn’t work, restart
- if it still doesn’t work... give up (just kidding, you should never give up!)
Sorry for the messy info... I hope it helps some of you...

I have a cyclic redundancy problem; every time I try to reinstall Medal of Honor: Allied Assault during installation (at 11 percent), it says error: cyclic redundancy problem.
Hello,
I don't know if you've resolved the issue. I have a computer technician nearby, and it can indeed come from a damaged media, but with a recent disk, it's most often due to the fact that the disk is protected.
To work around the problem, I installed the software Any DVD; the latest version even allows you to copy Blu-rays.
Find it, install it, and you'll see a very clear difference, I believe.
Yours sincerely.

okay. I downloaded the latest version of Any DVD, it didn't work, I still got this cyclic redundancy check. I cleaned my disk. The disk is brand new. It didn't work. I always left Any DVD activated, then I tried with cmd and the following command: xcopy d:video_ts c:/c to force the copy despite an error, it copies but the same error still shows up. I combined Any DVD with several software like DVD Shrink. Still the same error. I tried to open the uncopyable files with Notepad, copy them as a text file, then rename the extension, but that still doesn't work. PLEASE, I need a solution.

Hello,
I have an error message telling me there is a cyclic redundancy problem when I copy music from my hard drive to another external hard drive.
Sometimes, I just need to copy files to my hard drive for it to catch this redundancy problem.
If someone could help me, I would be grateful.
Thank you
Casirossi

Hello,
I had the same problem at first. However, when the CDRC appears with new and clean discs, it means there is a copy protection.
I got Any DVD, and with this software, I no longer had problems with CDs for my personal compilations - you can hear that - but I still have some issues with DVDs...
I also use CSS Region Free and the virtual player DVDx Player, which is currently the only one that integrates a region-free system - because CD/DVD players are often "locked" to RPC2.
Some damaged discs that were given to me wouldn't "rip" at first, but with all this installed, it is very rare for me to encounter problems.
So you need to look for:
Any DVD
CSS Region Free
DVDx Player
DVD Shrink (if you don't have it yet)
DVD Decrypter (possibly also) roughly equivalent to DVD Shrink (but without the incredibly effective editing table found in DVD Shrink)
Let me know how it goes once you have all this.
Don't just take my word for it, try it.
And don't resell, or I won't be responsible for you anymore. Personally, I don't mess around.
Promise!

The cyclic redundancy check problem often occurs when the "Lead Out" has not terminated properly.
This problem occurs on certain file systems (including DVD and CD-ROM) that allow a higher directory to link to a lower directory (with the files from the higher directory actually contained within the lower directory).
If certain data is not written correctly, the computer will point to the lower directory, will see itself, will point back to itself, and thus return to the lower one.
This creates an infinite loop and is called a cyclic redundancy.

After long hours in front of the screen, I finally managed to get rid of the infamous "cyclic redundancy," without formatting!!! I'm not a fan of formatting or defragmenting; I know many are keen on it!! lol!!
Here's my story:
"Take the time to read carefully, even if the terms are not quite accurate, (it's for better understanding)"
The PC was working wonderfully until the day my kid, in the spring of his life, having crashed his own, went surfing on "exotic" explanation sites, if you catch my drift!!!!
Oh damn!!!! A mess on the computer!!!!!
Hard to shake off; it’s been 4 years since it has run without a single format or defrag, and just one problem a year that I managed to counter, but this time I decide to do a bit of housecleaning, I back up everything I can, "docs, photos, and personal files" so I don’t lose everything, then I try to make an image of the HDD, a first for me!!!
It must be said that following a crash three years ago, I have two other already configured HDDs on standby; yep!!! No more than 5 minutes to get the machine back up and running in case of issues!!!
From time to time, I "plug" them in for updates
So after downloading what I need to make this famous "photo," I dive in!!!!! The program interrupts.... and the damn message appears "rebounding in loop"!!!! lol
A little chkdsk!!! ..... "defective sector"
Yes, but where????
I restart Drive Image XML, and the error is located between the 863,645th and 924,843rd sectors!!!! out of the 77 million on the partition; the haystack is smaller!!!!
And there I make the mistake of doing a defrag!!! which aims to tighten the bytes, but which makes "cohabitate" the black sheep right in the middle of the flock!!!!
I need to locate this sector, so I launch "WinHex" and go see in the "little haystack" what’s inside, .... a DLL!!!! I make a copy and then move it to D:.... then I put it back in its original folder \windows.....;
I restart DrvImXml, and the haystack shrinks to 561 sectors!!!! I’m going to get it!!!!!
With WinHex, I locate the sector, but I can’t edit it; my version of the program is a demo and doesn’t allow saving to the HDD,
for info, filling all bytes with "00" equals a low-level format, yes but only if it’s done on the "physical" surface of the HDD and not on the "logical," there’s a "shift"; be careful not to confuse it!!!!
I then try another hex editor, but this one is too "innocent"!! It only reads the "logical"!!!
And then an idea!!!! I start an examination with the disk tool of my HDD, a 80GB Seagate, therefore "Seatools" on the "Ultimate Boot" CD...
A complete analysis allows me to locate the erroneous sector, plus that’s where I saw the shift between the physical and logical surface!!!
Seatools leaves me at the end of the analysis the option to fill the sector with "00" or not!!!! I hesitate, then on the second analysis, interrupted by me because it’s dragging on, I "zero" the sector!!!!
BINGO!!!!!
Conclusion:
It is not mandatory to format an HDD just for a few defective sectors if the physical surface is not affected!!!!!
I was able to see that deleted data remain on the HDD
and above all that with a little effort, you can make it happen!!!!!
Thanks nonetheless to the forum team
Claude

Hello
I found this too, if it can help clarify things for you
"In computer science, a cyclic redundancy check or CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) is a tool used to detect transmission errors by adding redundancy. The added redundancy commonly referred to (incorrectly) as a checksum is obtained by a type of hashing over the entire data set.
CRCs are calculated before and after transmission or duplication, then compared to ensure they are the same. The most commonly used CRC calculations are constructed in such a way that errors of certain types, such as those caused by interference during transmissions, are always detected."

Hi
Well, well, this topic has lasted quite a while!
Since it was started…
First of all, I believe that with a good cleaning of temporary files and the registry every day (not just as some say "oh once a month is enough!") this problem doesn't arise.
I have only had this problem once since 1999 with my first PC, and since then, I've been using Ccleaner and RegCleaner and haven't encountered this problem again...
So maybe we shouldn't overthink things and get into some routines...
Have a good day

I also encountered this problem with the Tambe Reader game.. the issue is with the disk itself due to the alteration of 1 file.
Good evening,
first of all, run a memory test with Memtest 86 v.30
http://optimisersonpc.free.fr/download.html#benchs
Otherwise, your problem is most likely due to the copies.
Speed too high or poor quality of the CDs.

Hello,
I have the same problem of cyclic redundancy, I can't read some of my DIVX, but if I lend a DIVX with a cyclic redundancy to a friend, he can read it. Where could the problem come from?

It happened to me too, I don't understand. I had already installed my Sims 3 game on my PC, but after a bug with my computer, my repairman initialized the computer which meant that the game was uninstalled and impossible to reinstall... because of a cyclic redundancy error for just one file... please help me...
Hello,
How should I go about copying a floppy disk??
Because every time I want to remove a photo from my floppy disk to put it in a file, it says "cyclic redundancy error" as well
thank you for your reply
