Hello, I can't find how to align text (a paragraph) on a tab stop. I can only get a indent on a tab stop for the first line, but the rest of the text aligns to the left and not automatically to the first line.

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hello,

A paragraph (several lines) cannot align to a tab stop; only the first line uses it.

To shift an entire paragraph by two (spaces/units) there are two solutions:

Move the small square under the two triangles in the ruler (if you place the mouse over it, it displays "Left indent" but it isn’t precise.

More precisely: Home tab, click on the "Paragraph Settings" button (to the right of the "Paragraph" group name) and set the value in "Indent," "Left."

      Hello,

The art of "voting" as soon as I write something, have I written anything else?

In addition and after verification, one can perfectly align whatever we want with the default tab stops.

Assuming there is a first-line indent, if I want to add one to the paragraph while keeping the previous one, I press Tab at the beginning of the first line.

If I do not want to keep this first-line indent at the start of the second line.

If I tab successively, the indent will pass through each of the custom indents defined in the previous paragraphs, but as mentioned, you indeed cannot create a value that does not exist and does not correspond to the default tabulations that are manual.

    Hi marmotte1

Normally, you must select all the lines for which you want the tabulation to be applied.

We set the tabulation, then we press the [Tab] key

    Best regards

      Hello,

The removal of the first line is specified in the paragraph or in the template style, but it is a convention, not an obligation.

For the rest, we can also move the cursor to the rule or select such a paragraph and, since we know the default tab stop or the one chosen for the template, apply a left indent equal to the number of times the chosen tab value.

That's what I did, it erases the entire paragraph!
