Good evening!
My son made a beautiful drawing with a permanent marker on my LCD screen. The manual tells me to clean it only with a damp cloth... not very effective. Apparently, the manufacturer doesn't have children. I tried with 70% alcohol and nail polish remover. The next step is a paint stripper... please, help me!!!!!!!!
Thank you

Hello everyone, what happened to me is that my two-year-old son wanted to make Picasso on a 1500 euro LCD screen with an indelible marker for CDs. So, after taking a deep breath, I read your comments, and it turns out that after trying with perfume, as one of you suggested, the first attempt was astonishing—it worked perfectly. When I say perfectly, it's unbelievable; a baby cotton pad and a bit of Gucci perfume (I don’t think the brand matters much; it’s just because there’s alcohol in it), and there were no marks, no alterations—perfect. So, before you kill your son or hit your wife for lack of supervision, try the perfume; it’s great+++
Another solution:
use a dry-erase marker (for whiteboards) on the permanent marker and wipe it with a cloth.
Guaranteed result without marks, without stains, and in no time at all.

Hello everyone,
I saw that this post is a bit old, but it might help some future desperate souls.
My girlfriend accidentally got a mark from a permanent marker on her phone screen, and it came off easily with a VU wipe (lens cleaner) - anti-streak formula.
On the back of the wipe, you can find the possible uses, which include cleaning glasses (obviously ^^), mirrors, camera viewfinders, helmet visors, and, miracle of miracles, LCD screens.
There you go, I hope this helps some people in the future!

I had the same problem with permanent marker. I just tried the dry erase marker trick. It works like a charm. Thank you!
I found this:
Take the permanent marker and go over where it's written, this will slightly remove the first layer, then directly take a strong solvent such as white spirit, alcohol, and apply the cloth with the product directly

Save a PC, eat your Win# CD.
and now you do what they told ya, now you're under control!

Hello
Be careful not to use overly corrosive products!!! Those could eat away at the plastic!!!
Try using hydrogen peroxide...
The most effective would be, it seems to me, acetone, but I can't guarantee the result for the screen. At worst, try it on a plastic bag to gauge the damage before damaging the screen too much...
Good luck and hang in there...

Thank you, but while waiting for answers, I did some tests:
I tried with the fantastik bathroom (even hair dye comes off with that), bleach and vinegar: no results... in the manual, it says under no circumstances should you clean this screen with an abrasive like Ajax, so I thought there might be potential on the abrasive side. lol I gently tried with Vim and MAGIC!!!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!
But I thank you for your responses. I'll keep them in mind for my son's next creative episode because right now, my screen has cooperated well with this torture session, but it might abandon me next time! ;)

My son stuck something on the screen. I used nail polish remover, but big black marks got stuck on the screen. I used a magic eraser bought at the supermarket with basic vinegar, and it has never looked so good.
I did it with cologne, perfect, no more marker drawings
best regards
