Pin Code (Windows Hello)

Solved

Hello,

I’m working on Windows 11.

I would like to remove the password (Windows Hello PIN) that is requested automatically when I open the PC or restart.

I tried in Windows Settings: Accounts - Sign-in options - PIN (Windows Hello). There is a box to change the PIN and a grayed-out "Remove" button, which obviously doesn’t work!

Is there a relation with the Microsoft account?

Are there other solutions

    Good evening,

I followed the procedure described in the link, but it makes no difference — "delete" is still greyed out.

    Thank you

      Hello,

The problem may occur because the Microsoft account has no password, but not only that; see below:

      https://lecrabeinfo.net/tutoriels/windows-11-comment-supprimer-le-code-pin-windows-hello-au-demarrage-du-pc/

In case of failure, you should migrate to a local account:

Sometimes, not always, you can leave the password of the local account blank, but that is not necessarily a good idea as it can cause issues, especially on a local network; it is better to hide it:

    Hello,

I managed to solve my problem by changing the account type (exactly as in the tutorial "Lecrabeinfo"). I was about to share the solution I had found. Everything is OK!

Moreover, it removed the Bing wallpaper that opened every time. I no longer waste time because there is no more local password (I work alone on my PC).

A big thank you to Brucine and Panth33ra who took care of my case.

    Best regards
