Yellow vertical line (LCD screen)

Question

Hello, I have a yellow vertical line that is constantly displayed on my LCD screen (even at boot... black screen). Is it a screen anomaly or can I make it disappear? Thank you in advance.

Hello everyone,

Before you throw your screens away, tap a bit on the top, at the line, to check that it doesn’t disappear. For me, it removes it, which indicates a bad connection at the back. If it doesn’t disappear, I fear it might be irreversible. That said, some screens can last a long time with one or two vertical lines.

Otherwise, good luck with the after-sales service...

Hello,
It could be either a graphics card issue, or possibly the monitor, but more likely your card. Check your connections, make sure the card is properly seated in the slot, and gently fiddle with the cables of the card, "SLOWLY", as it might just be a simple contact problem with the card. Otherwise, it could be more serious and the card might be a bit damaged. Also, check your memory sticks; they might be a factor.

I have the same problem with a Hyundai
I connected it as a second monitor to another PC, same issue
So it really seems to be the monitor and there doesn't seem to be anything to do about it!

PS: Once during a storm the line disappeared a few times before finally reappearing, strange!!

I'm having the same problem with my LG phone (over a year old) where vertical lines of different colors appear after each restart. I'm sending it in for repair and will keep you updated on the outcome. In the meantime, I think this could be due to a connection issue (1500€ down the drain after just one year, what a shame). In this case, could someone please recommend a brand for my future phone (more for gaming than apps)? THANK YOU

So, what's new?
A fine clear straight line has appeared exactly in the middle of the screen of my HP Pavilion 17" laptop since yesterday.
It’s a laptop that I very rarely move (it hasn't been shaken or subjected to any shocks).
I would like to know if this symptom could have another cause other than a screen failure...
Anyway, is there anything to check, test, or try (for a non-specialist) before contacting a repair shop (unfortunately out of warranty, it's only 2 years old)...

same problem with HP Pavilion from the z8000 series... and what's not reassuring is that extra vertical lines keep appearing regularly... I'm up to 9 so far, who can top that?!?

Given the price of a 17" screen replacement (around €500) for a 2-year-old laptop, I'm wondering if it wouldn't be more rational to buy a separate LCD screen....
For the little I use my laptop outside, I can tolerate the 2 vertical lines (the damage to my computer has stabilized for at least 2 months to these 2 light vertical lines in the middle of the screen).

I'm looking for a 20".

Among the height-adjustable screens, has anyone seen one that could be adjusted high enough to allow my laptop to slide between the base and the screen itself (I'm wondering if what I'm writing is very clear...)????

Indeed, I think it's more practical to look straight ahead than to turn one’s head to the side....

To check if it's a screen issue or a graphics card problem, try connecting an external display to your laptop to see if the stripes appear.

If it's a screen problem, try holding the screen with your hands by grasping both sides and pressing very gently in the center. Try several spots like that; sometimes the stripes disappear...
