Hello,
I just bought an Asus Vivobook laptop and a 27-inch Samsung monitor.
When I turn on the laptop, there are no issues, but when I connect it to the monitor, the display is yellow!
I’ve done some tests:
- with HDMI and VGA, same problem, the screen is still yellow.
- I updated all the drivers (TLD) -> didn’t solve it
- I connected it to another monitor -> still yellow screen (so it's not my monitor, but the laptop)
Finally, I noticed that when I turn on my laptop with my 27' monitor connected, during boot the screen is normal, but when I log in, after a second, it turns yellow again! (like a driver problem that launches at that moment). With the Intel HD graphics software control panel (installed natively), increasing the blue brightness partially resolves the issue... Is this software buggy?
Thank you for your responses!

Sorry to bring up this topic again,
but I finally found another solution for those who have the persistent problem,
Asus installs by default a software called "splendid technology"
It's a filter software for adjusting the screen tint, and for me, it was this software that was tinting my screen yellow at startup!
You can launch it by pressing "fn" + "c" on Asus laptops and adjust the screen tint! :)
What a joy to see life in white again!

Try fiddling with the cables when it's yellow near the graphics card, even moving the graphics card. I've encountered this issue before.
Well, first: thank you all for your replies!!
I ultimately didn't have the time to go to the store to return it,
but I just found out! It was indeed the software!!
The problem came from the NVIDIA management interface which by default selects the integrated graphics card in the processor! Makes sense, we buy a PC for a fortune with good components just not to use them....
Anyway, in short:
For the next ones, you need to go to 'open the NVIDIA control panel' (by right-clicking on the icon at the bottom right)
then 'manage 3D settings'
and finally in the dropdown menu called preferred graphics processor, choose 'high-performance NVIDIA processor' instead of 'auto-select' which chooses the wrong card!

I have exactly the same problem. And I don't want to use your solution because the integrated OPTIMUS graphics card is precisely meant to save energy as it is less powerful.
The powerful Nvidia card activates as soon as you launch a heavy program like Photoshop or a 3D game. So we need to keep this system and try to resolve this software issue that originates from the integrated graphics card.
Edit: On other sites, they talk about "reading mode" that gives a yellow tint to all whites (the yellow is less harsh on the eyes). So I'm still looking...

Hello,
you just bought it, so customer service will probably give you another one.

One idea leads to another.
In mechanics, you don't change the engine of a broken car. You check the fuel, battery warning lights, and noise from the starter to find the problem, so it takes time :)

Hi,
try reconnecting the VGA cable or consider replacing it.
One idea leads to another.

Hello everyone and thank you for your responses!
First of all, I sincerely think that the problem is software-related because when I log in (on Windows 8), the display is good for 2 seconds and then everything turns yellow, as if a software is launching and causing the bug!
I have tested several VGA cables,
several HDMI cables, and two screens, so the problem definitely comes from my PC!
Moreover, the graphics card is recognized and works well with the main screen of the laptop... Now I just need to find that software that is causing all this mess!
I thought it was the Intel HD Graphics control panel; has anyone experienced this kind of problem before?

You just bought it, don't worry, take it back to the store because if you mess around too much, your warranty won't work ^^.
If you think it's software-related, check the graphics part, there might be an incompatibility somewhere (it's also possible that it could be due to an infection after an installation).

After reading several other tutorials that address this issue, I updated the BIOS to version 202 -> no results!
And I turned off the computer, removed the battery, and pressed the button to discharge any electricity that might remain in the various graphics components!
---> still nothing!
More and more compromised....

I think the problem comes from the wiring between the PC and the monitor
(pack it up and bring it back to the store)

I was thinking about an issue with the laptop cable connecting the screen (invisible to the naked eye, cable passing through the hinge between the laptop and the screen)
if you have tried with another screen, then your problem is graphical. It could be a poorly fitted connection, or you might be missing updates or drivers somewhere (GPU, motherboard), unless you haven't loaded the right ones (reference or version), or it could be a hardware issue from the factory (hence the need for you to bring your laptop back).
EDIT: go to the store, they will advise you, to avoid voiding your warranty.

The problem can have several sources. If the screen turns yellow when you connect your second screen, it is because your laptop screen is using the integrated graphics card and not your NVIDIA graphics card.
For example, if you have an integrated INTEL card, you will need to use the INTEL HD graphics control panel software to adjust the color of your screen.
