Hello,

When I try to connect my laptop (ACER Aspire 5103WLMi) to a projector, the screen image flickers.

Could the problem be with my graphics card? How can I fix the issue?

Thank you.

Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 25.0.1364.172

Does the problem persist when connecting the PC to another screen with the same cable?

Because the manuals don't tell you everything...
But they don't say nothing either, you know!

So let me explain, I explained myself poorly, the screen flickers without me having to plug anything in (that is to say, just by clicking on duplicate screen).

You don’t connect anything.
You select "duplicate screen."
"The screen jumps" = the image on the laptop's built-in screen disappears.

Is that right?

My questions:
- why do you select the 'duplicate' function when you haven’t connected the second screen/projector?
- by connecting the external screen (or projector) and selecting "external screen only," what do you get?

Oh no, I meant the image that jumps..
Haha yes, I'm just testing the functionality before getting the equipment. The image isn't going to jump just because I haven't plugged the thing in, right?

"The image doesn't jump just because I didn't plug the thing in, right?

Well... first of all, the image doesn't 'jump'. It is displayed or not displayed. It can flicker, be distorted, zoomed, misaligned, scroll (only on cathode screens), or have any other problem due to the screen's technology. But an image that 'jumps' is an image that bounces...

And what is the 'thing' you're talking about? The projector?
If you don't plug in the projector, you won't have an image."
