Blue Screen Ralink 802.11 RT2860

Hello,

Today, at least twice, my Asus Eee laptop did not come out of sleep mode properly: it shuts down upon resuming and there was a fleeting blue screen with the message "Driver IRQL not less or equal."
All files open before sleep mode started are closed upon session recovery, and without any backup (needless to say).

After having the minidump files read by Blue Screen View, it seems that the problematic driver is the one named RT2860.sys related to the Ralink 802.11 Wireless Adapter Driver. The version is 5.00.03.0000, the latest I believe.

How can I resolve the issue? Should I uninstall/reinstall the driver? If so, where can I find a functioning version that is not infected with malware?

Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
there's nothing difficult about finding a driver without malware, it's more the opposite that's hard.
If you have Windows 10, you can uninstall the driver and it will reinstall itself.
    Otherwise,
you can use sdi to install network card drivers without having the internet (either download the full version or download the lite version and then in the software only the network card drivers). Otherwise, you can use platforms like touslesdrivers or drivercloud.

      Hello,
Thank you for the quick response. I will get back to you after I have tested all of this.
And I forgot to mention, but I have XP...
      Have a nice day.
