Preparing for automatic repair Solved

Question

Hello,  I just bought a PACKARD BELL computer with Windows 8 on it. It's 3 days old. An error occurred while I was playing, and the computer completely shut down. Upon restart, it told me: "Preparing Automatic Repair," it does this for a few seconds, then there’s a black screen. And it restarts with "Preparing..." over and over. It did this for 1 hour. I can't get into safe mode... I hope to get help as soon as possible!  Thank you.

The problem comes from a program that installed an unsigned or incorrectly signed system file not recognized by Windows' signature enforcement. You need to temporarily disable the signature enforcement to achieve a normal boot.  Go to: Advanced Options / Troubleshoot / Advanced Options / Startup Settings /  reboot  Option 7 Disable driver signature enforcement  After that, no more issues.

Hello, I have an Asus with Windows 8 and to get out of the automatic repair trouble, I pressed the F9 key on startup and then it took me to a menu in English to format or analyze my PC. It's a desktop computer.

At startup, immediately after booting, press F8 repeatedly without losing 1 second because Windows 8 starts very quickly!  With a little luck, a menu will appear... In this menu, press enter on the option for Safe Mode with Command Prompt.  Log in and in the prompt type the command:  sfc /scannow  command that scans the system and attempts to repair corrupted system files.  Once done, SFC will indicate whether the operation was successful or not.  To exit Safe Mode with Command Prompt:  shutdown /r /t 0

Good evening everyone, I am reaching out to you because I encountered a similar problem on an Asus computer but I couldn't access safe mode :( I don't know if it's because we're doing it wrong or something else, we tried using the F2, F9, F10, F11 keys, pressing FN at the same time and without, but nothing works :/ I got the error code "critical_service_failed," and the screen is black with a perpetual loading on a repair that turns out to be unsuccessful. We also don't have a Windows DVD. I saw that some people managed to access the command prompt and went through that to solve the problem, but I don't know how to access it ^^" Can going through this mode help?

Hello. I just encountered the same problem on an Acer V5 laptop. Apparently, it's a common issue with this brand. I consulted several forums and tested a few maneuvers to eventually get back to normal without much effort. At startup, press Alt + F10 (Someone suggested this among the responses on this page) several options: - start in Windows - repair while saving your files and all that - repair by wiping everything; I don't want anything to be recognized anymore. - turn off the PC, give up, watch my life get shattered and my wife leave with someone else.  I chose the 2nd option (also suggested in one of the responses), meaning repair while saving the data. However, the PC immediately tells me that the drive using Windows is locked so it's not possible.  Going back, I try the first option (open Windows) Then the PC indicates that it’s not possible because the PC is not well, something like that. It offers to restart and attempt auto repair or check the advanced repair options.  So I go into the advanced options, new menu: - start Windows - turn off the PC (to presumably restart it manually) - advanced repair options.  I think to myself that fiddling with the options would be a mistake. Since I can’t go back to the previous menu, I decide that I’ll have to restart and try something else.  Who knows why, out of curiosity, I ask it to open Windows again (the guy who insists)  Well, it restarted. The PC returned to normal, my desktop, my folders, the vacation photos, the Wi-Fi, the whole kit and caboodle.  And Acer is offering me a factory backup, which I didn't need to be asked twice.  So.  Alt + F10 Repair while saving data Open Windows Try to open Windows anyway And if it doesn't work, why not restart and give it another shot.
