Hello.
I have a problem with the VLC media player version 2.0.1 that I can't seem to fix.
I have the season of a series in MKV format, I've been able to watch the first 19 episodes without any issues, but on the last three, I only have the picture, but no sound. The problem isn't with the files since everything works fine with Windows Media Player (it's actually my brother who has the issue, and he doesn't want to use WMP, but I’ve seen that it works since that's what I'm currently using).
So initially he had a sound problem with the last episodes on his computer with VLC, and I noticed that the sound also doesn't work with VLC on mine, but it does with WMP.
I'm not sure if I was very clear, I apologize if I wasn't.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Configuration: Windows 7 / Google Chrome

I had exactly the same problem except that I only had background noise and not the voices, although they were properly activated.
So try to right-click on your video in VLC, then select "Audio" -> "Audio Device" and instead of 5.1, choose "2 in front; 2 at the back" or "Stereo." On my side, the problem is solved!
See you!
