Remove/disable recent files from the taskbar

I have a question that has been bothering me about Windows 10: When you right-click on an application in the taskbar (for example, VLC), you get a jump list containing the items recently opened with that application.
I'm wondering the following:
- How can we clear these lists
- How can we disable this feature to not save the history of files.

You need to go to:
Start menu > settings > personalization > home > uncheck "Show recently opened items in the Start menu or the taskbar shortcut lists"-
