Call Of Duty 2 Installation Issue

Hello

Following a partition that crashed (where the game was located), I decided to reinstall it. But to no avail. At the very beginning of the installation, it shows me the following message:
"The path to the COD II folder contains an invalid character."

Consequently, I performed a registry cleanup regarding COD II and cleared everything that could be on C. The result remains the same.

What could be causing this? Will I have to format my drive to reinstall it?

Thank you in advance
Configuration: Athlon 64 3400+ 1024Mo DDR Corsair CM ASUS K8N-E GF 5500 256Mo Sound Blaster 5.1

Well, I have the same problem except that I can't uninstall CoD2 to reinstall it (I have a lot of downloaded files that I want to get rid of).

I confirm that from the CD explorer, by launching setup.exe, the game installs and everything is fine ;)

Yes, there you go, you right-click, go to explorer, setup, and there you have it...

Hello, I already installed Call of Duty 2 on my PC and everything was working fine. I uninstalled it, and now when I insert the installation CD to reinstall it, it recognizes it, but when I click on the COD2 icon on my desktop, a window appears and says:

executable 'd:\setup\rsrc/cod2.exe had the following unrecoverable error:
    couldn't find library msvc80dll (required by C:PROGRA 1\fiche 1\MICROS 1\OFFICE12\MSOXMLMF.DLL)
please ensure that it is installed

please respond quickly, thanks for your help.

I tried to uninstall a CD that a friend lent me in order to install a CD that I just bought...
Result: I can't uninstall or install...

Thank you in advance for your help...

I had exactly the same problem, I managed to reinstall it by opening the disk location instead of running it, then launching the setup.exe file. The first time it didn't work, so I tried to launch the game through the same location (the disk one) without success. Finally, I tried reinstalling it with the setup.exe file again and miraculously succeeded!

When I want to reinstall, I check that I agree to the subscription agreement, I click on install and then nothing happens. I don't know what to do anymore.

Hello everyone, to address your problem: executable 'd:\setup\rsrc\cod2.exe had the following unrecoverable error:
    couldn't find library msvc80dll (required by C:\PROGRA 1\fiche 1\MICROS 1\OFFICE12\MSOXMLMF.DLL)
please ensure that it is installed. I found it, and I want to say that I don't know if it will work on Macs. So while you are in the installation of Call of Duty 2, do a Windows return for this, look at the left side of your keyboard for the key that is on the left side between alt and ctrl and press it, go to your computer (or "this PC" depending on your computer), then c:/program files/common files/microsoft shared/office12/ and delete the file MSOXMLMF.DLL. DO NOT MISTAKE IT!!! There you go, I hope I have helped you. Have a good evening everyone!
