Hello, I've been searching for a while but my answer is nowhere to be found. I just changed my computer (XP) for another one (Seven). However, I wanted to install my good old Call of Duty 2, but it is incompatible with Seven. When I try to install it, a window pops up saying "This program has known compatibility issues" and it then offers to search for solutions online, but nothing works, it doesn't find the solution. I then click on "run" and a message appears saying "Unregistered library."
I hope I was clear, maybe there are solutions?
Thank you.
Configuration: Windows 7 / Safari 534.13

Listen, I've struggled a lot too, here's the method that works every time (I've reinstalled it 3 or 4 times):
Your problem comes from the way you installed it, in my humble opinion.
Uninstall the one you installed yourself and put the installation CD back in your drive.
- Explore the CD and right-click on "setup.exe" and "Run as administrator"
- The installation will start, wait for it to finish and reboot the PC
- Go to /program files/activision and right-click on "COD2_sp.exe"
- /Properties/compatibility mode set to XP sp3 and check "Run as administrator"
- Go to /program files/activision and right-click on "COD2_mp.exe"
- /Properties/compatibility mode set to XP sp3 and check "Run as administrator"
- Install patch 1.3 (http://www.gamefront.com/files/5125790/Call-of-Duty-2-PC-Patch-v-1.3/) for multiplayer.
- Reboot and if you don't have a mic, plug anything (in jack of course!) into your mic input (I used to plug in an old pair of headphones when I didn't have a mic).
Just do it as they say, launch the game and it should work. -
Hello, try what's put here:
https://www.commentcamarche.net/faq/16559-call-of-duty-2-cod-2-bugs-recurrents
it's for Vista but works quite well with Win7

But you must never forget that they are. -
Thank you, but I can't seem to start the download of the patch.

Thank you qwerty, but I'm still at a standstill, I've installed the patch but it's not working! :(
Any other solutions?
