This topic assumes that the game is already installed... unfortunately, I have the same problem as our friend above and the game cannot be installed due to an error: "Unregistered library" and then nothing happens...

Any solutions?

Edit: Um... just by exploring the CD and running the setup.exe the installation works ^^

I have the same problem,
but even when launching setup, it doesn't work

Personally, I installed it via "setup.exe" in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode and as an administrator.

Once the installation was done without any issues, I launched the game!! However, there was a problem with DVD detection.

I then went to the installation directory, right-clicked on "CoD2SP_s.exe"

Properties, compatibility, and I changed Windows 7 instead of Windows XP SP3 while still running as an administrator (apply), and it works perfectly.

Following your recommendations, I managed to install COD 2. However, it is still impossible to launch it, even after checking Windows 7 compatibility mode and running as administrator. The game keeps crashing (with the delightful "Call of Duty 2 has stopped working"), even in safe mode (!). I can't modify the settings, and sometimes it's even impossible to restart the game, which crashes before even getting to the intro and realization.
When I do manage to launch the game, it is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE for me to change the graphic settings without crashing the game (including in safe mode). I'm forced to play in 640x480 resolution or something like that (on a 16/9 screen).

What should I do? Clearly, something is not right.

Hi everyone, regarding the black screen issue in the Call of Duty menu, I’m experiencing the same problem, but with the first game, which is Call of Duty Deluxe Edition, the first version under XP. At first, I installed it without any issues, without any settings adjustments or running it as an administrator or any other Windows version. I had to perform a system restore to an earlier point, and since the black screen appeared during all that, I reinstalled Windows from scratch with my license key, and the same problem persists. I can’t do anything now; it used to work perfectly, including this version of Call of Duty 2 with a different campaign. I have an Nvidia 460 GTX HD graphics card, 12 GB of RAM, DDR5, an iCore 7, and I’m running Windows 7 x64 bit. I’m not a pro, but I have older games like Medal of Honor: Allied Assault that run without a problem.
