portable DVD player issue

Hello and thanks in advance to anyone who can help with my problem

I have a Neom DVD player that was working perfectly until a few days ago when it stopped reading DVDs.
When I put one in, it says insert disc and it doesn’t detect it. The DVD doesn’t even spin. I cleaned the lens, and I’ve tried to figure out why it’s not working anymore.
Well, when I say it’s not working, that’s not entirely true. It can read DVDs, but only when I turn my portable player upside down (I did some experiments ^^)
Can someone tell me why it’s not reading DVDs anymore, or at least why it only reads them when the player is upside down?

when you took it apart to clean the lens, you started to remove a black cover where the DVD centering mechanism is located
it is a circle with a diameter of a 20-cent coin, check if it moves freely (it should move) and that it is not stuck

I didn't disassemble it. The lens is visible directly when I open the player to put in the DVD, and the cover that spins the disc doesn't seem stuck.

This could mean that the reading lens is misaligned. There's nothing you can do but take it for repair, but I'm afraid of the worst, get a quote.

Well, listen, on my player when I open it (it's a portable player), I see the ring where the DVD is locked and a small circuit with a lens on it.
But how do I unlock the center if that's the issue with my problem?
However, I did a new test. I put a DVD in and left the case slightly open just enough for it to say insert and for my player to read the DVD so I could observe what was happening. And I noticed that the DVD spun for a few seconds before stopping.
Could that mean something other than a problem with the lenses or the center?

So it's like on a laptop but with a lid that lifts up, but not like a standalone player? The lens at rest should be facing the center. Pull the lens outward and close the drawer, then reopen it and normally the lens should reposition itself to the central axis.

I can't get the lens out, and I don't really see how to do it. When I pull it slightly outward, there are those very thin little bars framing it with a dab of paste around. I don't know if that's clear, but I don't want to break my reader any more than it already is.

I am reviving my topic a bit because I've had new experiences and I've noticed (even if I don't know if it's the reason for my problem) that the DVD spins without me having to turn my player upside down if I put a weight on it. I even managed to get the DVD to work twice, once where the image skipped every 2 seconds and another time where it worked normally. Does anyone know where this detection problem related to additional weight comes from and how to possibly fix it?

So if it works by doing that, look at the hinge side of the lid; there’s a small hole where there’s a push button inside. Either it’s broken, or it’s the little pin on the lid that’s a bit damaged.

With the lid open, try pushing something thin like a matchstick to see if it starts to turn.
